Mega Man
Japanese name: ロックマン (Rockman)
Ah, yes! The Mega Man series. I have very fond memories playing the first five games from way back... what was it? 1 or 3 million years ago? (For your information, I am actually 4 million years old) However, here's the thing; I never owned a single game from way back whenever the hell. All the games that I played were video game rentals! I don't know why we never purchased them. I guess it was just easier and cheaper to rent games out. Anyways, this has to be my second favorite video game franchise, with Pokémon being the first. I don't really get why I love the Mega Man series so much. I was never into robots or any other media that portrayed them. I didn't even know the title character was a robot. Then again, before the internet came along, I didn't know a lot about the series to begin with! I just loved the games! They're a lot of fun! Yes, they're difficult, and, in hindsight, I remember getting really mad when I couldn't beat certain levels, but that's just my incompetence and severe lack of patience.
I want to collect whatever items are out there that strikes my fancy. Unfortunately, a lot of the items are really, REALLY expensive for some reason. Even the more recent items can come out to $100 or more! Capcom, the company that owns the Mega Man franchise, loves to milk everything for what it's worth and bleed it dry with high priced merch. Then again, I think I'm being a little too hard on them saying that. I mean, what company hasn't done that to a successful series?
For older items, eBay prices can be unreasonable, but sometimes you can find rare gems for decent prices. Yahoo! Japan is also a great place to look for things. I will only be focusing on the classic and X series for now. Any series beyond those two... we'll see. Just don't expect to see EXE or Starforce. I don't care for those two.

Rockman 1 Famicom Game
(ファミコン ロックマン)
In Japan, the series is known as Rockman. I, personally, do not care what name people decide to call it by. For the sake of clarity, anything that comes from Japan will be using the Rockman name. For those of you who do not know, the Famicom is what the NES was called in Japan. It's a combination of the words "Family Computer." This was a lucky win on eBay. I got it for a great price, but the box itself is not in the best condition and it has a price tag on it. Still, it's pretty cool to have! It has everything it would have had if it was purchased at a retailer! The game and instruction manual are both intact, which is great!
I will not be getting the American version. Holy crap, the box art is just atrocious! It is probably the worst I have ever seen, and I have seen plenty of ugly box art. Oh, and for those wondering, this was not the first Mega Man game I've played. My first was actually MM 2. I honestly don't remember when I first played this game.

Rockman World Gameboy Game
(ロックマンワールド)
Speaking of box art, I don't think I will be getting the American versions of any game in this series. I really dislike the box art for almost everything we got. I don't get why there are different box art to begin with. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just give us the box as-is? Or maybe Americans are just infatuated with manlier-looking guys and they were made to appeal to the "western" demographic? It stinks either way. If any of you think this is me saying anything not coming from the US is superior, think again. I think the European box art stinks, too.
Never mind the American box art! This one is vastly superior! The game itself is a lot of fun, but I play the Gameboy games using an emulator.

Rockman Rockman PSP 2008 Game
(ロックマン ロックマン PSP 2008)
This game was first released in 2006. The game you see here is a "Best Price" game that was re-released in 2008. The only difference is the price and the cover on the box. The game and manual are the same.
Normally when I buy a game from Japan, I buy it for the box cover, its contents, and nothing else. I almost never play them, partly because I cannot understand the language and also because most consoles are region-locked, which makes it impossible to play those imported games, anyways. I also tend to go for original boxes and not re-releases unless there is virtually no difference. This game was different. The reason I got this game was to play it. The PSP is not region locked, which made playing this game possible. I wanted to see the differences between the English and Japanese versions, mostly in terms of voice acting. Then a YouTube user called weeabooty uploaded the Japanese version onto his/her channel and kind of made this endeavor pointless. Rats! Go check them out if you are curious.
The game itself is a lot of fun. It gets a lot of hate due to its cute, chibi-style, but then again I'm not really all that surprised. We in the West have never been fans of anything cute, if the past American boxes in this series are anything to go by. That, or people just hate change. I don't know. I really don't care, either, because this is a fun game. My only real complaint about this game is that it would have been much better if it was made for a television console instead of the PSP. The PSP was a system that never really interested me. Come to think of it, I was never a Playstation person to begin with. I would recommend getting a PSP only to play this game and Irregular Hunter X.
**AS OF MAY 28, 2014: Weeabooty's channel is no longer up. However, there are other YouTube channels that have uploaded the Japanese game, so if you are curious, go check them out.

Mega Man Legacy Collection Collector's Edition
Looky! It includes a gold Mega Man Amiibo! How... awesome? I don't hate it, but it's far from my favorite thing to own.
I do not want to be that person who is like "Where's our new Mega Man game, Capcom?!" That's not what bothers me and I've come to peace with that a long time ago. What bothers me is buying a game that I own already with this kind of "incentive." I already have the digital download. I already have these games on the Virtual Console. Why am I buying them again?
I don't know. Maybe I'm part of the problem. I guess if I really didn't want it, I should not have bought it. Truth be told, I'm not bitter about the fact that I own it. I mean, it's a cool thing to have MIP. The box looks really nice with some nifty artwork. I don't plan on getting the game out and playing it as I hear it's buggy as hell. The Amiibo sure doesn't need to come out as the case it is encased in is blank. Yeah, they didn't even bother to decorate the box.
There are a few mini postcards/posters that are included with the set, and I will admit I love the artwork on those pieces, but if you really want to see them in their awesome glory, just go to theCHAMBA's Deviant Art page and ogle at them from there. They even sell some posters on eBay for a decent price with the same artwork.
All in all, it's nice to have just to keep mint in box. There is very little reason to take it out.

Irregular Hunter X/ Rockman Rockman Value Pack Limited Soundtrack (Back)
What you see here is technically the back of the cover.
Around 2009, Rockman Rockman was re-released alongside Irregular Hunter X as part of a two-for-one value pack. Early copies of the games included a soundtrack with 15 songs for each game (making a total of 30 songs).
The sole reason I got this was for that adorable cover image! This soundtrack does not pop up on auction sites very often, but if you happen to spot one, prepare for competition. I got really lucky. This one has never been used.
One other thing: the title rhymes! I just wanted to mention that.

Irregular Hunter X/ Rockman Rockman Value Pack Limited Soundtrack (Front)
Since I am collecting items from the X series now, I thought I'd show the front. So cool! The more serious of the two PSP games got such an awesome cover. Not that I don't love the silliness of what you see on the back, but this is just beautiful. So kickass!

Rockman Theme Song Collection
(ロックマン テーマソング集)
Music CDs in Japan can be expensive. They can go for $30+, even for something as simple as this. This was a cheap find but that's only because the case has a crack on it. The CD itself is in great condition. Oh well. One of these days I will get a replacement in better condition. Right now I'll enjoy what I have.

Mega Man D-Arts Figure
D-Arts never fails to amaze me! This came out before the Charizard D-Arts figure, I believe. There is no difference between the Japanese figures and the American releases other than the packaging, though the American package still has some Japanese text on the box for some odd reason.
If you want to display your figures, go with the American package. You will be saving $40-$60 if you do! For those of you who like your figures MIP, go with whatever you want.

Rockman Nendoroid Figure
Oh my gosh! I love this little figure! The details are amazing and what it comes with allows for numerous neat posing shots!
My only problem with it are the expressions on the face plates. You have a sad/expression-less face, an angry face, and a face that looks like he just got hit by something. I know they were trying to emulate the expressions of the 8-bit sprite, but that's the worse thing you can take inspiration of to get Mega Man's facial expressions. Where's the happy, cheerful kid we all know and love? I don't know. I just don't care for the blank-eyed look to him. I mean, it's okay to have these kinds of expressions, but it would have been nice to include a face that looked happy.
Just a nitpick I have. It really is a great figure and I hope to get him posed in a nice stance with what is offered.

Mega Man 4Inch-Nel Figure
At first, I thought I was wasting my money on nothing but a 4" figure. When I got this figure in the mail, that attitude has changed. Very nice figure. Great paint job, the ball joints are easy to mess with and pose... I have to say this figure is a lot better than what D-Arts came out with. It's just a much more fun figure to pose around with.

Mega Man and Cut Man 4-inch Nel Figures
Based off of Hitoshi Ariga's manga, you can actually create Super Cut Man when you switch the heads out. Unfortunately, you cannot have both regular and super form together since you do not get a second back part of the head. You have two front parts: a smug look and an angry look. I would have prefered to have both Super Cut Man and regular since there is already a Super Mega Man 4-Inch Nel figure sold separately. I mean, really? They honestly could not include an extra backing of Cut Man's head? The only way you can create the super form is if you buy another package OR hope someone on eBay sells the back of his head for a small price (don't count on it). So, normal it is to display, I guess.
Despite my rants, they are beautiful figures. They are a bit pricey, but they are must have for collectors since they are so well made. As the title suggests, they are 4-inches tall and comes with extra accessories.

Mega Man PS4 Legacy Collection Collector's Edition Statue and E-Tank
This was included in the PS4's Collector's Edition, because they had to push the Legacy Collection to that system with some kind of incentive that would make people want to buy it.
They had this for sale without the game on eBay, so I picked it up because I do not want to own a game for a system I do not even have.
"Wait a minute, ocelotlrama..." you say, "Isn't that the statue that was sold during the series' 25th anniversary?" Well, yes and no. It's a "variant" of the same statue without the base. They wanted to push the game out with something they already had made. That is some classy stuff.
Oh, but it's not all unoriginal. You get an E-Tank. That's... something, I guess. I think you know where I'm going with this.
If you already own the 25th anniversary statue, don't get the PS4 Collector's Edition, unless you really just got to have two of pretty much the same item. Since I didn't own the statue beforehand, I picked the PS4's bundle up since it's a less expensive alternative to the older 25th anniversary statue. Maybe the E-Tank will go on sale on eBay for those of you who already own the statue so you can pick it up that way. It's just my opinion that it's really not worth getting two. They're kind of big so they take up room and the box to the PS4 bundle is blind packaged so you cannot see the figure or E-Tank from a plastic window. There's just no point. Of course, if you want both, it's your money. I'm just writing here that yes, they are both pretty much the same thing.

Rockman X-Plus Figure
Wow, that head next to the figure looks creepy... Still, I wanted to show what came with this Godzilla-sized figure.
Good god, this thing is HUGE! This isn't a figure, it's a statue! A lightweight statue! I was expecting it to be big but not this big! When the box arrived at my house, I was just flabbergasted by the sheer size of this thing!
Okay, I can go on all day on how big he is, but he is a very well-made figure and, if you have the room, I recommend getting one for yourself! They are worth it! You can interchange the heads (hence the creepy head next to the figure), but I'd rather keep the helmeted head. He looks cooler. Looks like bodyless, helmetless head is going to have to do without. Okay, sorry, that was kind of dark.
Jeebus, he's so big I had to display him on the floor next to the shelf where I display these figures. He takes up 2/3 of the top of the display shelf!
Oh, but I'm not done talking about the size of these figures! Just scroll down to see my ramblings on the X figure!

Mega Man Bobble Budds Bobblehead Figure
This is the figure that made me want to get all of my bobblehead figures out of their packages. In his package, he was facing the far right and was off balance. It looked horrible so I decided to just display these figures out of package. Now he looks better!
He has an interchangeable hand and buster. The buster looks cooler so I decided to display him with it.

Mega Man Jazwares Juvi Vinyl Figure
I... didn't even know this figure existed. When I saw it up for auction mint in box, I just had to get it! The box itself was not mint and was so beat up that I was better off displaying it out of package.
The cool thing about this figure is that the buster on his left hand can be removed! You don't have to display him with it, but I think he just looks so much cooler with it!

Mega Man Funko Pop Figure
I know Funko gets a lot of hate from people, especially when they made figures for this series, and yes, I can kind of agree on that sentiment. The paint job is hit or miss, the human and humanoid characters always look the same and have that same blank stare, they tend to remake the same figure over and over with minor differences... yeah, I can kind of get the hate these figures get.
At the same time, they're a nice addition to have in the collection. I really do not go out of my way for Funko figures, but the main line of figures were a nice get.
With that said, I will not be purchasing the weapon variants because those are incredibly lame. This figure is nice enough.

Mega Man Felyne Figure
I have never played Monster Hunter, but holy smokes! I love this figure! Given to me as a birthday present by my good friends clair2522 and hebilea of Pkmncollectors, this was a pleasant surprise to receive! I love it!
I love the fact that Felynes look like Siamese cats, my favorite breed of cat! Maybe one of these days I'll pick up the game and play it for myself to see how it handles, but for now, I am going to enjoy what I have in this figure! Gosh, it's just too cute! Kitty! =^^=

Roll X-Plus Figure
This is an adorable figure. I love Roll's MM 8 design and I have to praise them for going with it. She's so cute!
On the other hand, they just had to go with that pose, huh? Panty shot and all. I mean, it was such an absolute necessity because they wouldn't be able to sell these figures without doing that, right?
I don't have a problem with sexy girl poses with panty shots. Hell, I love sexy girls myself! I do have a problem with sexy girl poses done with girls under the age of 18. I know she's a robot, but still... she's a robot child. I'm sorry, that's just all kinds of shades of gross.
Anyways, adorable figure if you can look past the cringe-inducing pose. She doesn't come with anything like an extra head or other accessories. She comes as-is. Really, that's okay by me. She's a cutie.

Rush Tissue Box Cover Plush
Puppy!
I'm not going to sugarcoat it; I think a tissue box cover plush is a ridiculous idea, and not in the cute, quirky way. Like I'm going to put a tissue box, the same box that houses the paper that I use to wipe a snotty nose that sometimes gives off lots of dust, into this thing that costs probably a year's supply worth of tissue boxes.
I have to wonder if there was a single person out there (who doesn't live in Japan) who actually used this thing it was intended for. I say people who don't live in Japan because of the import fees and all that good stuff. I'm pretty sure if you lived in Japan and didn't have to put up with all that extra crap, you could use this to your heart's (and nose's) content.
Unfortunately for our faithful canine here, he will not be holding tissue boxes. I wish there was a way to get his head up for the picture. He looks like he is sniffing my backdrop.
Mega Man X X-Plus Figure
Again with the creepy head! At least it looks like a 1up. Then again, with the bodyless head looking up at the figure like that, it kind of looks like he's jealous he doesn't get to have a body!
This is my first X figure and he definitely will not be my last! Even more, my first X figure had to be the size of a mountain! He's even larger than his classic counterpart! Between him and classic MM, I now have two statues side-by-side next to the display shelf!
Again, as with classic MM, he's well-made and the details are exquisite! If you have the space for mammoth-size figures, I really encourage you to buy one for yourself!

Nendoroid Mega Man X Armor Figure
I got this little guy from Amiami. There was another place where if you pre-ordered it from their store, you also got an acrylic extra life piece to go with the figure. Because of Amiami's strict policy on no backing out of pre-orders, I didn't get one up piece. Oh well.
Cute figure! Not much else to say about it, expect I want to get my paws on the regular figure one day.

Mega Man X Kickstarter Exclusive Figure
A Kickstarter from TruForce toys has come to life in the forms of these beautiful figures! Unlike Jasco, TruForce felt really involved in what they were producing. You can tell they wanted to go all out with this figure and they did not disappoint! Great communication with their backers and the lack of hiccups in the design and shipping process made it a successful Kickstarter in my opinion.
I was unfortunately only able to afford the Kickstarter exclusive at the time. The figure below was purchased much later after the Kickstarter's initial end date. More on him below.
Look at this figure. I said look at it! Those details are deathly awesome! He has an LCD light in his X-Buster and comes with numerous pieces that can be swapped around to create some neat posing effects. I have a boring stock pose here, but I intend on creating one of the best poses for the display case!

Mega Man X-Kai Figure
This was teased and released at a much later date after the initial end of the Kickstarter. They went all out with this figure. I mean, they created a backstory and everything. It's just a color swap of the original and Kickstare exclusive, but a must-have for a fan of the series! That black and gold color is just boss!
I had him posed like he was getting ready to shoot but was surprised by something coming his way, causing him to miss what he was aiming at. What could it be? An oncoming attack by his enemy? A black void getting ready to cause a catastrophic event? My cats getting ready to pounce on him? Guess we'll never know.

Mega Man San Diego Comic Con X Armor Figure
A San Diego Comic Con exclusive. I hate figures that are exclusive to SDCC in particular, only because it is near impossible to get in without people buying all the tickets and scalping them for thousands. Once these figures hit eBay or even TruForce's website, they were sold at a much higher price. I HATE that!
Because space is getting more limited, he does not have any accessories to him. I do not displaying them without going full on crazy with posing, but it's just a temporary thing until I get more room.

Zero X-Plus Figure
The largest X-Plus figure to be released. The details are really stunning and show what a badass this guy is!
He's so big that his pretty-boy hair had to be placed separately in the package and placed on manually. The Z-Saber was a pain in the ass to assemble because the sword keeps detaching from the handle. For some reason mine won't stay on. I was tempted to super glue it into place but that'll mean it's never coming off. I don't want that! I just want to attach it without it coming off! Is that too much to ask for?
Oh yeah! He's also my first Zero figure! I am quite proud! I hope to own more figures of this guy in the future!

Mega Man X and Zero Tamashii Buddies
Cute figures of our "classic" (this game came out in 1993, it's classic to me) heroes from the first SNES game along with backgrounds of the intro highway level. The bottom level with X is lopsided a bit while I was taking the picture, but it centers perfectly on a hard surface.

Proto Man Jazwares Figures
This guy came in a lot of Jazware figures that I didn't own and wanted to add to my collection! He's a handsome devil! What a cool guy!

Proto Man Bobble Budds Bobblehead Figure
If you didn't notice, his neck is sticking out a lot more compared to the other bobbleheads I posted on this page. That's actually how you get the figures to bob their heads, but I figured that out by total accident!
He comes with the most accessories- an arm cannon and a shield. I wanted him to look cool for the picture so I wanted his two accessories on him. Both of his hands are capable of grabbing the shield but the buster itself had to replace one of his hands. Getting the buster on wasn't the problem, it was the shield. I put a lot of pressure on the figure to get the shield on his hand, and in the process, his neck popped out! I thought I broke him, but his head started to bob. In the end, I figured out how to make their heads bob. What a genius I am. Not really. The figures come with instructions that I never bothered to read until this actually happened.
Now all the figures have their necks out like this guy. I took this picture last, so that's why he has his head in bob-mode while the others don't. Again, it was a total accident!

Proto Man Jazwares Juvi Vinyl Figure
This figure was also unknown to me. Like his blue brother, his buster can be removed!
I love, love, LOVE these figures! Yeah, Jazwares is an awful company, but they did a good job on these vinyl figures! If only they didn't cancel their future line up as the next vinyl batch they planned on doing looked fantastic! *sniffle*

Cut Man Flying Sciurus Custom Figure
Okay, I need to explain why I got this in the first place. Let me just say I do not regret getting him. Flying Sciurus is an incredible vinyl painter and I wish I had half the talent he has.
Here's the thing: I commissioned Flying Sciurus for this guy because I thought Kidrobot cancelled their 3" and Keychain MM line. They were initially supposed to be released in the summer of 2014. When nothing was brought up again, it was just assumed that they cancelled it. Even the forum mods mentioned the line took a backseat to whatever they had planned.
Of course I was pissed. The figures looked really cool and they would have been the first figures of some characters who didn't have anything in the first place.
So what did I do? I saved the images that Kidrobot had of what they planned, and found a custom vinyl painter to give me what I thought Kidrobot couldn't and wouldn't. I wanted my favorite character out of the bunch and I thought a 7" figure would be neat (as opposed to the 3" figures). This was in late April of 2015.
I'm serious. In no less than a month later after I commissioned FS, it was announced that the figures were in production and had a summer 2015 release date. I don't know if that was the best or worst timing in the world.
So there you have it. I made a committment to FS and I couldn't just ask him for a refund. Still, this figure is 7" and is beyond well-made. Having customs is always a welcomed addition and in the end, I couldn't be happier.

Cut Man Super Model Spirit Figure
(超造形魂ロックマン カットマン)
My favorite character in the series! I really like Cut Man, and I would like to own every figure he has. There isn't a whole lot, which is lucky for me, I guess.
These figures come blind boxed, and you know me and my thoughts on those. It's not the fact that they are blind boxed that bothers me; it's how much the boxes themselves cost. Unless you really love surprises or just don't care what you'll get, by all means, buy a box and try to get lucky! Still, you're better off buying these figures individually. Despite that, the figures themselves are well made and come with a nifty base.

Cut Man Jazwares Figure
Of all the toy companies to get the license to this series, it had to be Jazwares. They are not the worst, but their quality isn't anything outstanding.
This figure in particular is really wonky. I don't know what the joints are made out of, but they are fragile. I have heard horror stories of people accidently breaking their figures. I am not rough with my figures, so that will probably not happen with my items.
It's really amazing how rare this figure got within a span of a few years. The figure that is out of package came from a lot that didn't include any accessories. It just came as-is. The one MIP was purchased at an inexpensive price but the box is incredibly beat-up. It's so bad to the point where I don't even want to keep it MIP. It comes with one item that I don't even know what it is. What on earth is that little red-thing with eyes? That stupid little thing has me scratching my head more than it should. It reminds of those really annoying springer enemies from MM 3, only it looks waaayy dumber! Miniatures do come with some of these figures, and they can come in red or white. I've seen the reds more than the whites so I am assuming reds are more common. It doesn't make any sense to have different colors since they are not blind packaged to surprise you, but okay, Jazwares. It's your company.
**UPDATE 10/07/2014
Apparently the white miniatures were convention exclusives not sold in retail, so that explains why they had two different variants. I learn something new everyday.

Cut Man Nanoblock Set
(ナノブロック カットマン)
This is a very recent item, released in December 2013. When it was first revealed, a lot of people were really negative about these sets. I think I read only two comments that weren't critical. I don't think the comments were really all that fair in their judgment, but at the same time, I can see where people are coming from. These guys are tiny yet there isn't a single place that sells them for less than $23! With shipping, it came out to $31! Granted, the quality is good, and it is an import. These blocks are also different than Legos with different sizes and dimensions, so you cannot replicate what you see here without some warping.
Anyways, this isn't the worst. I had a fun time putting these guys together. Here's a little fun fact: all the enemies that were included do appear in Cut Man's stage. Well, that's not exactly a fun fact since it's common knowledge. How about this: they are also the same colors as they appear in his stage. Nice they got those small details down, right? I like that.

Cut Man Coin
(カットマン コイン)
There were coins made of the original six as well as a few others. I don't know anything more beyond the fact that
1.) They rarely pop up for auction and
2.) They can be pricey
Year they were released? I don't know. I'm assuming late 80s, early 90s. Do I plan on getting the other coins? Yes, I will. Just one at a time. I got my favorite of the bunch, of course!

Elec Man Bobble Budds Bobblehead Figure
My second favorite character in the series. Elec Man is probably one of the more popular characters, which is in no way a bad thing!
This was the first bobblehead I bought out of the set of four that has been released. I have the other three, of course, but I really wanted this one first. He's since been removed from his packaging.

Elec Man Jazwares Figure
Jazwares did a much better job with this set of toys (which only included classic characters) than the previous set (which was a combination of classic and X). It's too bad they lost the license when they started to get better. They had some teasers on the back of the box featuring new releases that will never be sold in retail. Sigh... oh, well. It wasn't meant to be.
The figure that is out of the package was MIP at one point, but I took it out because the box was in such bad condition. I got lucky with the MIP figure as it came with a lot of items I bought on eBay. I don't set out to buy figures mint in their package (unless I am really after something MIP, then I'll just buy it directly rather than rely on luck). Whatever I get that happens to be MIP is usually obtained by luck.
More information on these figures; apparently the figure that is MIP is a rerelease. The figure that is out of his package is from the first release. They both look exactly the same, but the only difference between the two is that the original figure came with a piece of Mega Man (wow, that sounds really morbid). I think this guy came with the torso. I do have the piece somewhere in storage. Okay, now they are just asking for these "body in the fridge" jokes to be made!
There are five pieces total, and when you get them all, you can combine them to make... a blue Mega Man. No, I mean he's blue all around, face included!

Guts Man Jazwares Figure
Holy... this guy is huge! I mean, massive!
This figure was the only figure not to be rereleased when Jazwares rereleased all their MM Retro Roto figures. I can see why!
I love this figure! He is the rarer figure in the bunch, but I was able to get him for an excellent price from a lot!

This figure came as part of a lot of Jazware figures that I purchased off of eBay.
He's very well made and I am happy to own him! I wish Jazwares made more figures like these instead of those crappy toys they had from the mid-2000s.

Rush Jazwares Figure
Aww! Puppy! You know I had to collect this little guy! Who doesn't like Rush? I wish the other animal characters got figures, too. Then again, I am really grateful some of my favorite characters have one figure to their name to begin with. Some characters really got screwed out of a figure.
A lucky find in a lot! He was supposed to come with accessories that would allow him to transform into his jet mode, but alas, they weren't included. It's okay! I still love this figure!

Mega Man Kidrobot 3" Figure
Yeah, I can see why people didn't like this particular figure and the other variations. It is the company's style, but even I have to admit there is something off-putting about this and the other variations. Compared to the other characters who got the Kidrobot treatment, he looks too different. It's like a completely different character in a Mega Man costume. He's not terrible, but definitely not my favorite of the bunch.

Mega Man Kidrobot Keychain Figure
The keychains measure at 1.5", and while they aren't as clean-looking as their 3" counterparts, they are still excellent in quality.

I was kind of hoping they had another character as the mystery figure, like Rush or even Proto Man, but hey, I can't complain. He's actually not that bad looking.

My only Roll figure, for now. I like Roll, I really do! It's just the only figure I see of her is from a model kit, and I'm not in the mood to mess with those at the moment. For now, this figure will do!

Cut Man Kidrobot 3" Figure
Out of all the figures in the bunch, I was looking forward to this guy the most. Look at him! He's so cute and angry-looking. Seriously, he's the Pancham of the Kidrobot figures. He's trying to look menacing, but instead of intimidating me, I just want to give him a hug instead.
I wanted this figure so bad that when I thought the line was cancelled, I commissioned a vinyl artist to make the 7" figure you can find towards the top of this page. I guess this is a perfect time to have my cake and eat it, too!
He comes with a separate cutter that can be attached on top of his head. You can also display him without it. Now, why would you display him without it?

Unlike the figure above, the cutter does not come separately and comes pre-assembled on top of his head. You also cannot remove it.

Fun fact that is probably common knowledge by now, but I'm going to mention it anyways because, why not? This little guy was going to be a Jazwares figure, but the line was cancelled because of something something. It was such a shame because he actually looked really good. Oh well. The Kidrobot figure doesn't look bad at all.

Such a shame this guy is not more popular. Everybody seems to forget this guy exists. He's actually my third favorite Robot Master. I love his design!
Speaking about his design, is it just me, or does he share a big resemblance with the Kidrobot mascot? Compare the two and you tell me.
He is the second figure to come with an accessory. The bomb can be placed in his hand or you can display him without it.

Unlike the helmetless Mega Man on top, this guy was not exactly a mystery figure, but the chances of getting him was listed at ?/??. I'm 99.9% positive that it just means 1/20. They're not the rarest things in the world, I can promise you that.
By the way, I should mention that I HATE this guy. He's boring to fight, and when I first fought him, I had a difficult time doing so. I think it took me 30 tries to actually beat him without the damn pause trick. He sucks. He's also big and yellow with one red eye. I hate him.

Here's the guy who is partially responsible for a lot of the crap that happens in the entire Mega Man timeline! The classic series, the X series, the Zero series, the ZX series, and Legends. He looks so jolly, too. You just can't trust anybody these days.

Mega Man Funko Pint Size Heroes Figure
Okay, when these figures came out, they got a lot of heat from the fans. I mean, they were panned.
Unlike previous game characters that I collect, you may notice a pattern here. Funko items are universally despised by the Mega Man fandom. Okay, universally may be a bit harsh as I have seen some people excited for these figures, but to be fair, it's not just the fact that Funko released these figures.
There has been a trend in Mega Man merch recently that people have caught onto and it is a biggie. For the longest time, getting merchandise of any of the Robot Masters was a pain to get. Few figures have been released here and there, but other than that, we didn't get too much. Starting with the Kidrobot figures, we finally got our first batch of toys released for characters in the entire game. People loved it and were excited for it. Then came the board game by Jasco. Then came Funko... and people got tired of toy companies only releasing characters from the first game- excluding Protoman and Rush, of course. Yes, I can see why this grates at people. You want to see your favorite character from Mega Man 2 or even 3. Maybe you have a favorite character that doesn't appear until Mega Man 8. Yes, I get it. That really sucks. A much as I love Rush, I also want a Tango figure. As for the X series, all we get are the main characters. Mavericks rarely appear in toy form, and for fans of that series who wants a boss release, they have been getting the shaft, too. I want a Slash Beast and Neon Tiger figure so bad!
I guess it isn't so much a jab at Funko (well, it could be both) as it is a jab at relying on the first game and first game only for toy releases. Now, I love the first game and it is home to a lot of my favorite characters, but I can understand the frustration, and to see them churning out more toys of only the characters in the first game when it can be arguably said that the second and third installments were more popular can leave a lot of people unsatisfied.
But, this is what was available. Mostly characters from the first game with a few surprises in between, but nothing too special. Here we have a Mega Man with a beady-eyed smile. It's a good figure if you dig this style.

Cut Man Funko Pint Size Heroes Figure
This figure is... I mean, I like it, but why do they always make him like he's in a bad mood? I don't think I have any American figure of this guy where he isn't scowling. The Japanese figures have him kind of smirking, but the American versions always make him look like he has a chip on his shoulder.
Not that the Japanese artwork never depicted him in a bad mood, but the American figures never deviate from this look, even with that beady-eyed face.

Despite his cuteness, that scowl is actually kind of intimidating. It's even worse than the large size Jazwares and Kidrobot figures I have above.

Maybe I'm overlooking how angry the figures look. I mean, they were reprogrammed for evil and I guess this is their evil look? Hey, toy companies? Could you make these guys smile once in a while?

Then again, if they were reprogrammed for evil and have these scowls, why are they in a toy line called "Pint Size Heroes?" They're not heroic! They're evil! At least now!
Call it "Pint Sized Robots" or whatever. Hero implies they are good. They're not, yet!

If there's one character in this series I feel bad for, it's Fire Man. He has a very interesting design, but he is always neglected in future games. He never came out in the arcade titles but he did come out in the Game Boy game, at least. The comic... I sometimes forgot he existed!

Bass Funko Pint Size Heroes Figure
Yes, this is my first Bass figure for this page. I was hoping the D-Arts figure would be it, but alas, this is the first figure. Yes, a Funko figure. I should be ashamed, but I am not, since this is what I can afford at the time.
Bass is more of an anti-hero than an actual hero, but I guess he fits with the rest of the figures in this set. I wish they made his robowolf, Treble, to go with him.
I believe this guy was a GameStop exclusive. I hate blind bags, but blind bag exclusives are a bigger pain.

Look at that! An X figure that is actually smiling! Not just any smile, either. It's a grin! Almost all the figures of X are so serious-looking. It's kind of refreshing to see a figure where he's happy.

Zero Funko Pint Size Heroes Figure
Here is Zero smiling. Not a full-fledge grin, but a smile, nonetheless. Again, there is very rarely any figure of this guy smiling. Actually, I don't think it is rare. I believe there is not one figure of him smiling. Until now, that is!
Which is funny, because there have been scenes of him in the games alone where he has smiled. What is with making the pretty boy character so angsty? Oh, yeah, I forgot. Mega Man X4, right? What is he fighting for?
X5-X7 were horrible with the angst dialed up (though X6, as garbage as it was, had an okay storyline). X8 was pretty good and could have steared the series in a good direction, but I am getting ahead of myself.

This guy is NO hero, but I guess the set wouldn't be complete without this guy. That scowl makes him look even more childish than he already does in the games.
As a side note: I am not done collecting all the figures in this series. There are a few figures missing and I will be getting them soon. Stay tuned!

Cut Man Loyal Subjects Figure 1
Oh boy. The Loyal Subjects figures. I like them. They're heaps better than what was released in the mid-2000s with Jazwares, but I have a few problems with them.
1. They look cheaply painted. It's not a good sign when I can see some of the plastic show through what looks to be one coat of paint.
2. They're a pain in the ass to stand on their own. I don't know if it's just this figure, but getting him to stand was hard. I think it's because his head is heavy and it keeps him off-balance.
I am also getting turned off with how many blind-bagged figures are coming out for this series. I know there are a lot of characters but I am sick of the blind bags.

Cut Man Loyal Subjects Figure 2
He's smirking instead of full-on frowning like with figure 1. I also believe this was an exclusive to Gamestop. Great. More with the exclusive, blind-bagged figures.
But if you thought blind-bagged, store-exclusive figures were bad, wait until you read about the Jakks 8-bit figures that were not only exclusive to Gamestop but still technically given at random despite not being blind-bagged. You'll read more about that sometime in March 2019.

Treble Loyal Subjects Figure
My first Treble figure! I love this wolf! Like with Bass above, I was hoping my first figure of this guy would be the D-Arts figure, but looks like Loyal Subjects beat them to the punch because it's just what I could afford for now.
This was another store exclusive. I HATE THAT. Instead of dealing with that nonsense, I just bought all these figures off eBay. Besides, my local Gamestops never had the figures because they always seemed to be sold out.

Mega Man The Board Game with Expansion Set and Boss Cards
Oh boy. This. Get ready for a whirlwind of me complaining with a tinge of praise here and there. It's a long story but I'll just give the cliffnotes version to spare you.
This was a Kickstarter started by Jasco Games sometime in late 2013. Initially I had only backed to get the Proto Man figure below along with an art print, but sometime during the Kickstarter's run, I decided to pledge for a set that included the main game, the expansion set, the UFS tins seen below the page, and some extra figures. I also added a few more items to the mix like extra boss cards and the playmat that can also be seen below.
Waiting during the making of the game wasn't a problem for me. I know the delays didn't sit well with a lot of people, but honestly, that didn't bug me at all. I will say it was a long wait. The game was not finished until late 2015, a full two years since the Kickstarter finished. If I was impatient during that time period, there was no way I would have been able to back this thing at all!
No, the problems came after the mention of the game being finished. I am going to make this short: they gave me a tracking number, they were terrible at keeping people updated, turns out my tracking number was all for naught and I had to wait almost another month for something they could have mentioned earlier. It was terrible.
Now I have the game with all the components they promised. The figures are very well made but the cards are cheap as all hell. If I had known they were going to half-ass the cards, I would have never purchased new ones in Backerkit. The game is nothing special and I never looked forward to playing it. Really, the only things I was excited for with this game were the figures and the new artwork. However, characters that had never had figures before that were expecting their first figures with this game were beaten six or seven months prior thanks to Kidrobot, so it wasn't like they were absolute must-haves by that point. That's not to say these aren't nice figures and there are first-time figures for quite a few characters, it's just the drive to obtain this game was killed a bit by Kidrobot.
Okay, onto the figures themselves in the next few images. I promise no bad things will be said about the figures themselves. Maybe the characters I'll complain about, but not the toy itself.

Mega Man The Board Game Miniature Figures 1
Okay, I lied. There is one bit of criticism I have. Just one. The paint jobs around the faces are atrocious. These are small figures and I can understand getting a good paint job on them can be difficult, but this is just bad. In all fairness, they did set them up to where if the paint job wasn't up to standards, they made it possible to repaint them easily, but c'mon! That's no reason it should be as bad as this.
Well, other than that, the figures are very well-posed and at least they do not look derpy.

More badly painted but well-posed figures. I love the figure on the right the most! The spontaneousness of it really makes it worth getting!

Mega Man The Board Game Miniature Proto Man Figure
I have nothing negative to say about this figure. The paint job is good and the pose is badass! Everything about this guy is badass.
He was also only a Kickstarter exclusive. I doubt he is super rare as a lot of people could pledge and just get this figure if they really wanted it. I say he's a must have if you want to collect these figures. Look at that pose! Badass!

I know I have complained about the paint jobs but these are meh. Not good, but not terrible, either. I guess I hold a higher standard for Mega Man because he's the main character and all.
I do not know if these were Kickstarter exclusives or were included with the game. They came in a separate box from the actual board game, so I'm going to go with them being exclusives.

Mega Man The Board Game Minion Figures 1
Okay, it's actually really cool that the minions from the first game got their own figures. The big yellow doof in the middle had a Kidrobot figure so it's not like he missed out. However, the Sniper Joe and Big Eye enemies never had anything, so yeah, that's cool.

Mega Man The Board Game Minion Figures 2
More minions! Let's see, there's a Met, a Cactus Met from Powered Up, an Octopus Battery, Peng, Tackle Fire, and a Watcher. Not every single enemy got a figure, but hey, what they managed to get was pretty impressive!
Ironically, these figures probably have the best paint jobs of the entire lot. I don't want to say that's sad because the fact that these enemies even got figures is really nice, but I do wish they did a nice job on all the figures, especially their flagship character.

Mega Man The Board Game Gold Figures Set 1
These I do know for a fact were limited to Kickstarter backers. Those who pledged a certain amount got them for free, but it was possible to purchase them separately if you really wanted them but didn't want to go all out.
Very nice figures! They are only one color, but these do show some effort being put into them.

Mega Man The Board Game Gold Figures Set 2
The bosses. Not all of them got a gold figure because they were limited to stretch goals that weren't unlocked. A real shame, but you can't win them all. What we have here is really nice! Nice to see my favorite character of the bunch get a gold figure! Yes, I got an extra one, too!

Rush Keychain
They had these keychains for sale at my local comic shop! I want an extra one that I can actually use!

Proto Man Keychain
Another keychain from the same shop. This was the last Proto Man keychain available, so I had to snatch it up!
He is a popular character, no doubt there.

Rush Dot Strap Figure
This strap was a lucky get at a convention! The vendors had opened one box to show what you can get inside. I asked if it was for sale and they agreed to sell it! I got him for a great price! If I had gotten him on eBay, I would have paid through the nose! Still, that was just for one figure. I would like to get the whole set!
This is from volume 1 and they are blind-boxed. Volume 2, which I have the majority of, is explained below.

Rockman Dot Strap Collection Volume 2
There are actually supposed to be nine straps, but the other two were "secret straps" that were not included in this lot. The other two straps are not any more expensive individually, but I would not recommend getting them on Y!J. They are not worth the fees.
These straps are also blind-boxed. Unless you really love surprises, I recommend just buying them in a lot or individually. Blind-boxed straps are expensive enough and not really worth relying on luck. You have a 1/9 chance of getting what you want.
Yes, I would like the other two straps. I don't get what's the point of making them "secret" when their outlines are really obvious to those who know what the sprites look like. That, and there's always eBay to spill the beans. They are Sniper Joe and a begging Dr. Wily, the friggin' coward.

Mega Man Megamix and Gigamix Manga
My favorite manga series! Well, to be honest, I was never much of a manga person. I like Pokémon Adventures but I get most of my reading kicks with online uploads, and that's about it. This series was brought to the US by Udon Entertainment in the form of six books, which makes things easier for me to buy, collect, and best of all, read! That in itself is kind of a bad thing, too, because the series is so short that it has you begging for more.

Mega Man Official Complete Works
This book is loaded with official art and commentary from the original artists and creators! Hours of fun can be had reading this and looking at the pictures! Unfortunately, this particular book does not cover Mega Man 9 and 10 because it was released before those games were even announced.
A 25th anniversary book has been released that includes 9 and 10, but there are a few things I am concerned about. I don't want to pay $60 for something I already have that only added a few more contents to the mix. What makes it even worse is the covers for the regular and hardcover books. Unlike all the action that is going on in this cover, the recent book only has game sprites. That's it! The hardcover is slightly better, but at $100, that's a little too steep for what is offered. I'll have to think about it. I would like to get the hardcover, but that's going to have to wait.

Mega Man Tribute Art Book Rerelease
It is nearly impossible to find the original release of this book that isn't in garbage condition. Udon rereleased the book with a brand new cover by Hitoshi Ariga! Absolutely beautiful!
The artwork in this book ranges from drop dead gorgeous to drop dead scary. I recognized quite a few names in here! Usakochan is one of them, as she's one of my all-time favorite custom plush artists! All of the images are great pieces and I really enjoyed looking at them. I've seen some of these images on places like Deviant Art, but there are quite a few that cannot be seen even online. Please do yourself a favor and grab this book! If you love artwork as much as I do, this is a must have!

Rockman Remix Manga
The story contents in this book, from what I've heard, is different than what was released in later editions. It was the first to be released in 1996, and it comes with three stories. I really wouldn't know what is different as I cannot read Japanese. As far as I can tell when I compared this book with Megamix, only one story managed to stay intact, but then again, I am not exactly the best at paying attention to details so take what I said with a grain of salt.
I don't know. Honestly, it doesn't matter and I don't really care. I just got this book for the nifty cover, anyways.

Rockman Manga
This series was never released outside of Asia, but the art and story stays true to the games. I cannot read the content, but I love looking at the pictures!
I am going to be honest about something. If they ever translate this, it doesn't look like it would be too interesting.

Rockman Strategy Guide
I love the cover for this guide, but I have to warn you, the cover is the only unique feature to this thing. The inside is really nothing spectacular. It just features maps of all the levels and artwork that has already been seen 100 times before.

Rockman's Soccer Strategy Guide
This game is terrible! I remember renting it and thinking it was the best thing ever made because of all the playable characters. I played it again recently and came to the realization that I was a pretty stupid kid who was entertained by anything. It doesn't help that I hate sports regardless if it's a video game or the real thing, so in my opinion this game was a dumb idea from start to finish. It's kind of a lame idea to make a sports game out of any franchise, but that's just me. It isn't the worst game in the series. I can name another game I dislike more, but goddamn! It's also really sad that my local video store carried this damn game but not MM 6, 7, or 8. It just completely baffles me that they had such a lowbrow spin-off game available like this.
The Japanese cover I do like, but instead of spending a lot for the actual game, I settled for the strategy guide instead. One of these days I'll get the game, box and all, simply because I really like the cover art. The great thing about this guide is that it comes with a cute little manga story at the end. That's kind of neat.

Mega Man Robot Master Field Guide
The information in this book can be really helpful, but it really feels like it just exists for those who like to collect these types of books. There is nothing in here that cannot be looked up online. Still, it's a nice addition to have.
I like how this is called a Robot Master field guide yet it also includes information about the few human characters in the series as well as helper robots. I know. I am just being nitpicky. It's just something I noticed and wanted to mention.

Mega Man Archie Comics
Here's something I am not afraid to admit. I actually like the Archie comics better than the Ariga manga. I know, what a sacrilege act, right? To some people who really have a great perspective of the world, that's right up there with mass murder and denying people their most basic human rights. Boy, do I wish I was kidding.
Seriously! I regret nothing! I love the art, I love the stories, and I love that they come out once a month! What I don't love is that the stories can go by a little too fast. Arcs so far only last four issues, which is too fast paced for a monthly comic with only a few pages. I hope that is addressed in the future. For now, I am really enjoying the stories! That's saying something, since Archie's take on the Sonic universe is really awful in comparison. The less said about their Sonic comics, the better (even if they did have an awesome crossover in 2013, not going to lie). I will say they surprised me with this franchise.
This is also what got me into collecting stuff from the Mega Man series! I was at my local comic shop when I saw issue #8 on the shelf. I was curious, bought it, became incredibly interested, and got so hooked I needed more.
I currently have every single issue, excluding cover variants. I'll be getting those later. I also have the comics from the Sonic crossover (which include Sonic comics). I thought I would never be buying those again after 14 years! Sonic comics still tank, they just tank less when they cross over with better games and characters.
*As of issue 55, the series is going under "hiatus." What does that mean? The hell if I know. Alls I know is that I won't be getting my monthly fix of this awesome comic anymore.

Mega Man Archie Paperbacks
Unlike the comics, I am behind in getting the trades. Only a few have been released, but I haven't kept up in buying them. They run at $12 a book, and paying that much for something I have already read before is more of a deterrent. Still, they do come with extra content that makes them worth the buy.
I have novels 1, 2, 4, and 7. I am missing all other trades.

Rockman Art Board
I got this for a great price in a lot. The lot itself was only about 100 yen, and it's strange because I have seen this same art board being sold 4000 times that price! I am not kidding! Some people are crazy with what they price things. Are they looking for suckers?

Rockman 20th Anniversary Clearfile
Got this super cheap in a lot. A must have!
2007 was the 20th anniversary of the series. Look at all those characters! Amazing art!

Mega Man Powered Up Sticker Sheet
They had this at my local comic book store, which is great because, if they didn't, I was going to get it on eBay for an inflated price.
Still, even at my local comic store, this was expensive for a sticker sheet. It's bigger than it looks in the picture, so maybe they priced it based on size? Or maybe they get their prices from eBay? I shudder at the thought. Yeah, don't ever base an item's value from what is sold on eBay. I've been suckered there more times than I can count.

Rush Capcom Sticker
My friend and fellow collector, syminka, went to Japan in the fall of 2015 and was kind enough to buy me this sticker, knowing how much I love the robotic pup! I normally do not post stickers on this site, but this is dying to be shown off! Look how cute he is! I'm dying from that adorableness!

Mega Man Universal Fighting System Tin
Got this from a Kickstarter I participated in. The tins can be purchased from Jasco's website.
I know nothing about the UFS card game. All's I know is that the artwork comes directly from the Archie comics, which is kind of lame. I know they don't have the budget to afford new artwork, but still... it would have been lovely to see custom artwork..
