#006 Charizard, Mega Charizard Y,
and Mega Charizard X

Picture
Japanese name:  リザードン (Lizardon)
One of the franchise's most popular Pokémon, I can understand why Charizard has his many fans! He looks really cool, he's a total boss in the anime, he is no slacker in-game, and being a part of the Generation I crew helps! I will be honest; I was a little hesitant to collect Charizard when I first joined Pkmncollectors because of how much merchandise he had and how popular he was. I decided to collect him because it wouldn't feel right if I didn't. I am glad I made that choice to do so.

I credit Charizard for getting me into the Pokémon games. When Red and Blue commercials were airing in the US, Charizard could be frequently seen. When I saw him for the first time, I just had to know more! I went to my local Toys R Us and looked through a strategy guide to find the really cool dragon I had seen in the commercials and on the box art for Red. I knew then I wanted to play Pokémon just to get myself one of those cool dragons! My parents got me a copy of Red that Christmas and the rest is history! I would like to take this moment to thank Charizard for getting me into my favorite video game franchise of all time!

... But wait! As of 2013, Charizard evolves! Well, sort of. He mega evolves! He gains two new forms but the change is temporary. How cool would it have been if the change was permanent! Then again, if they let that happen, the meta game would be completely broken, but I digress.

There is plenty to get out there of the pudgy orange dragon! Expect this page to be constantly updated.

Charizard Bell Plush
(すずなりポ ケモン ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

A holy grail I have wanted since I learned about bell plush in 2010! I finally managed to get one of my own 5 years after the fact!

While not the rarest grail in my collection, I still rarely saw him pop up for auction, and when he did, he was always beyond what I could afford. When I did have the money, none would be for sale. Finally, he popped up for auction when I actually had the money for him. I bid on him with no competition and won this little guy for a great price! Even after the service fees piled on, it was still less than what I expected. This was a lucky break, and I am happy my search for him is over.

The real name for these plushes is Suzunari Pokémon Plush. They are called that because of the cute little bell that is attached to the plush. This was one of Charizard's earliest plushes. A wonderful piece of history right here in this teeny-tiny plush!

Picture
Charizard 2010 and 2012 Pokédolls
(ポケモンセンター ポケドール リザードン)

The Pokédoll on the left is the 2012 version while the doll on the right is the 2010 original release. There are some minor differences: the re-release has a lighter colored belly and longer face and the original's belly is chubbier, but it is nothing too distracting! I love them both!

Picture
Charizard 2009 Pokémon Center Plush
(ポケモンセンター ぬいぐるみ リザードン 2009)

Both plush are from the original 2009 Pokémon Center release. You may recognize this plush as the pattern was remade for American audiences at Nintendo World in 2012.

The plush on the left is mint with tag and displayed with the rest of my collection. The plush on the right is my travel buddy!

Picture
Charizard 2013 Pokémon Center Plush
(ポケモンセンター ぬいぐるみ リザードン 2013)

I am not a fan of the material this guy is made out of and his head looks awkwardly made, but I do love the tag! While Pokémon Center plushes are always great to have, I don't know why they didn't take their time with this set of plush. They are not the worst, but they are also not the finest plush they have ever made.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center 2015 Plush
(ポケモンセンター ぬいぐるみ リザードン 2015)

After the complete bleh-ness that was the 2013 plush above, the Pokémon Center released another Charizard plush, only 10x better!

The face looks better, the body looks better proportioned, and the material is much softer. He's just a much superior plush to his 2013 counterpart. I don't want to say the 2009 plush is less better because I love that plush, too. It may not be as soft, but I love it being more expressive than this plush!

Overall, I am very happy with this guy. He is for sure a great improvement.

Picture
Charizard Banpresto Ichiban Kuji "S" Prize

This plush is 12 inches of soft, minky goodness! This plush was given as the "S" prize as part of a Banpresto campaign called "Pokémon Collection." Yes, that's the actual name of the campaign. Not exactly original, but it gets its point across. Only Generation I Pokémon were featured in this campaign.

The "S" prize is the rarest prize. This plush is very well made. Soft, cuddly... everything you would expect from the top prize.

Picture
Pokémon Kororin Friends Large Charizard Plush
(ポケットモンスター ころりんフレンズ でっかいぬいぐるみ-リザードン)

I got this off Yahoo! Japan not knowing if this was the small size or the large size plush. Both were similiarly priced at the time and as you know, I do not speak Japanese.

I was happy to have gotten the large size plush, but the tip off was how much higher the shipping was. The smaller size would have no way bumped the shipping like that.

Yes, he's very cute and very squishy. He's not very soft, but he's adorable. They seem to be making Charizard cuter and cuter as time goes by.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center US Plush

This, along with the Mega Charizard Y US plush, were given away for free to people who pre-ordered the ORAS games at a Toys R Us with a redeemable coupon. These are not just any plush, though. These are the X and Y plush that are sold on the Pokémon Center online, which sell for almost $23 each. With the preorder and the coupon, you get both for free.

I'll explain more with the Mega Charizard Y US Plush below since I do not currently own the Japanese plush of X, yet.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Plush
(ポケモンセンター ぬいぐるみ メガリザードンY)

I was a little apprehensive getting this plush only because from the looks of the pictures, it wasn't going to be soft. I was wrong. This plush is very soft and I like it very much!

As usual with Charizard merch, this plush and its X counterpart became very rare and expensive, at least for a short time. With the re-release of these plushes in both Japan and America, the prices may go down, and that makes me happy. It shouldn't since I am a collector, but I am a collector who values owning the item itself, not someone who only looks into its monetary value.

Other than that, this plush is what you would expect it to be: cute and cuddly.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center US Plush

How these plush were obtained can be read in Mega Charizard X's blurb above.

Now, for the quality of these plush. Surprise! Or not, these plush are not as good as their Japanese counterparts. First of all, take a look at the tag on the Japanese plush above and compare it to this. The artwork is the same, but the Japanese's design just looks so much cooler! The American tag has the same old boring black and white background to it. Woo hoo.

Another thing, the Japanese plush just looks cleaner. The seams are not as noticeable on the Japanese plush and the eyes also look better. All in all, I guess you get what you paid for, but at the same time, these plush are the exact same ones you can get on the Pokémon Center online website, which, at $23 each, is... unfortunate.

Picture
Charizard 2006 Pokémon Center Pillow

This was released at Nintendo World in 2006 but the tag continued to use the Pokémon Center brand name. The NY Pokémon Center was revamped into Nintendo World in 2005 so that probably explains the tag.

This was a high want on my list of wants. I was very fortunate enough to get this pillow with tag and all. The tag is not in the best condition, but the pillow is. Gorgeous pillow it is!

Picture
Charizard Generation I Menu Sprite Pokémon Center Cushion

Yes, it's a cushion and not actually a plush, but it's full of stuffing so I am going to place it here.

This is the sprite that was seen in the menu for all bipedal Pokémon, not just Charizard.

They call it a Charizard menu sprite, but looking at it, it looks a lot more like Rhydon. Rhydon was the first Pokémon ever created, and it showed. It was number 001 in the game's hex data, glitch Pokémon tended to evolve into it, the Substitute was originally shaped as a Rhydon, the game's original conception had a lot of Rhydon art in it... there is no reason to believe this isn't Rhydon, either. Look at it! It's Rhydon!

Anyways, since it's called a Charizard sprite on the official Pokémon Center website, I'll be displaying it here as such. BUT... it's still Rhydon.

Picture
Charizard Takara Tomy Plush
(
ポケモン タカラトミー ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

I love this plush! He's one of my favorites! The material is so soft and his belly is so chubby! He was worth the cost! I just wish he didn't cost too much because I would have liked to have gotten two of them! I hope Tomy brings this guy over locally. I would love to have a couple of extra ones.

Picture
Charizard 2017 US Tomy Plush

It's a beautiful plush, but I think Tomy had collectors in mind when they made the large plush. They are a lot pricier than the average plush you see at places like Toys R Us. There's no way in hell my parents would have bought me this plush if I were a kid. They'd tell me to wait for my birthday or Christmas. Problem is, Tomy never leaves these plush for sale when you really want them. They have a few sold in stores and they sell out quick.

Charizard is popular with kids, too. Why make this an expensive collector's item? It's a really soft plush and I much prefer to play and cuddle with soft plushes than Tomy's cheaper yet hard as a rock plushes. I don't get it. All I can say is that I am glad that I am an adult who can afford a plush like this of my own.

Picture
Charizard My Pokémon Collection Plush
(MYポケモンコレクション ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

This was inevitable, but c'mon! Who didn't see this coming, and I'm glad it did happen!

This has to be my favorite MPC plush of all time! They did a fantastic job on Charizard here! He's as cute as you'd expect him to be and one plush that I believe every Pokémon collector should have, even if you do not collect Charizard!

I'm so tempted to get two of them! He's that awesome!

Picture
Charizard Super DX Banpresto Plush
(スーパーDX バンプレスト ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

I have a sad story for this guy. Well, sad for me but probably hilarious for you. I, a person who is very oblivious to the laws of physics, tried to hang this guy up on my wall with the string that comes attached on the top of his head. Here's an equation to help illustrate my point: tiny and very thin string + heavy and large plush = broken, detached string. Yeah, I stupidly ripped of the string that was on his head. I honestly thought it was going to be sturdy enough, but clearly I learned that science in the hard way. Gravity has never been my friend.

Well, now he is stringless, but still in great condition! The damage could have been worse. If he had been MWT, then I would have probably cried!

Picture
Charizard Banpresto UFO Plush
(バンプレスト UFO ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

One of the most adorable Charizard plushes out there! This was released around the time when Fire Red and Leaf Green were a thing. Japan makes the best UFO prizes.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon XY&Z Koroto Plush
(ポケモン XY&Z コロっとまんまる ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

This lovely plushie was released a little later compared to the smaller plush seen below. While the material is not soft, he is a nice addition to the collection. Very cute plush, but wait til I get to talking about the plushies below!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon XY&Z Koroto Plush A
(ポケモン XY&Z コロっとまんまる ぬいぐるみ リザードン A)

These are the smaller plushes. As UFO plushies that came in a set of four, they were numbered by letter. This is the first plushie of the group.

This is the greatest group of Charizard plush to be released in the UFO machines of all time. They are just too cute! I mean absolutely adorable! I cannot emphasize that with mere words! When you see this plushie in real life, your head just wants to explode by how cute it looks! No, what I am saying is not hyperbole. Without a doubt, this is the cutest thing to be released by Banpresto ever. I recommend everyone who loves cute things to get a plush of this and the plush below for themselves.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon XY&Z Koroto Plush B

(ポケモン XY&Z コロっとまんまる ぬいぐるみ リザードン B)

Onto the second plush of the group. This plush is very cute, too. It's on equal footing with A above. I mean, come on! Look at it! He wants to give you a hug!

Picture
Charizard X Pokémon XY&Z Koroto Plush C
(ポケモン XY&Z コロっとまんまる ぬいぐるみ リザードンX C)

Now onto Mega Evolutions! As you see here, this is the cutest Mega Charizard X plushie in existence.

Picture
Charizard Y Pokémon XY&Z Koroto Plush D
(ポケモン XY&Z コロっとまんまる ぬいぐるみ リザードンY D)

The last plushie of the group. As with X, this is the cutest Mega Charizard Y ever. Okay, you know what? They are all just too cute! There is just no other way to describe them. Get the whole set for yourself and be prepared to have your heads explode from how cute they are!

I'm not sorry for overusing the word cute.

Picture
Charizard "Head Turned" UFO Plush

Paired with Dragonite, this plush is just too cute. This is the plush with his head looking to his right. Dragonite is looking to his left and are supposed to be paired up.

Picture
Charizard "Happy" UFO Plush

Another plush paired with Dragonite, who has the same pose. Doesn't he look so cute when he's happy?

Picture
I Choose You- Sleeping Charizard Banpresto Plush

A plush released during for the 2017 movie, I Choose You. Sleeping 'zards will never be not cute.

Picture
Charizard Recall Tomy Plush
(ポケモン トミー ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

This was a Tomy plush that had to be recalled due to some of the plushes having needles inside of them. Fortunately, I tested my plush for needles and he is 100% needle free! Still, for a Tomy plush, he is rather derpy. His snout looks really badly done, but the fuzzy material he is made of is really soft!

He was supposed to come with a drawstring bag, but the plush I got lacked one. The bag can be seen bellow.

Picture
Charizard Recall Tomy Plush Drawstring Bag

"This isn't a plush!" you say angrily.

You're right. It isn't. However, this bag was supposed to come with the plush above when it was sold in retail.

My plush didn't come with it, and it took a while for me to find it separately. I finally found it in a lot on Yahoo! Japan along with an assortment of other drawstring bags.

Picture
Charizard Paki-Paki Plush
(パキパキ ポケモン ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

These are plush that you can pose! I hate the material and the color of fabric they chose but the look on his face is really cute!

Picture
Charizard 1997 Banpresto Plush
(バンプレスト
1997 ぬいぐるみ リザードン)

This was obviously the inspiration for the Hasbro plush. It looks exactly the same only this one is made of better material and is a brighter shade of orange.

Picture
Charizard Burger King Plush

The elusive Burger King plush that was only released in Europe, but I am inclined to believe that the Charizard plush is a lot more common than, say, the Venusaur and Blastoise plushes that were in the same set. I have seen the Charizard plush come up for sale a lot more than the other two.

I also think the plush were supposed to come with a clipping ring, but just getting the plush itself was hard enough so I am happy with what I have. If I see one with the clipping ring available, I will try to get it.

Picture
Charizard Hasbro Beanie Plush

Oh, Hasbro. You're older items are simply not the best due to the fact that you were recycling and reselling Tomy and Banpresto items. But! You have given me a great childhood so I will give you a pass! You also made some great original figures down the road!

The beanie is still cute, even if it is just an inferior remake of the earlier Banpresto plush.

Picture
Charizard New York City Pokémon Center Statue

I have been searching for this statue for a long time, and it is finally mine! It was obtained from a weeding sale and thanks to the help of syminka, I was able to get it first in line! So happy! Gorgeous, GORGEOUS statue!! The detail is amazing!

The defunct New York City Pokémon Center is now known as Nintendo World. While not Pokémon-centric, it still features many Pokémon goodies. The problem with those goodies is that they are direct imports from Japan. I miss the days when the US would get exclusive gems like this!

Picture
Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center Earjack Strap

I knew they were going to release the Mega forms as straps. Don't ask how I knew. It should be common sense by now.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Earjack Strap

Y compliments X, of course.

I will compliment these things by mentioning that they are well made and I like the packaging. That makes them great to display!

Picture
Charizard Ichiban Kuji Pokédoll Figure

This was a lottery prize given out at various Pokémon Centers. I am really glad this wasn't the rarest prize! It is adorable! I especially like the touch they did where they made his base look like the Pokédoll tag! Really cool!

Picture
Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center "B" Prize Lottery Figure

Beautiful figure! The base just adds to his badass-ness.

More on Y below since I got Y first.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center "B" Prize Lottery Figure

I was really glad to get this figure separate from the entire set. Not only because I prefer displaying my figures instead of keeping them mint in package, but also because the entire set comes with a bunch of other Pokémon that I don't want to keep and I don't want to have to deal with that. Having them separate means I can just display what I want without the extra baggage. Also, it's not as expensive.

The little base that comes with the figure just makes it look so classy!

Picture
Champion Red Nendroid Charizard Figure

I got this set for you know who. Here he is in all his championship glory! Beautiful figure. There are no flaws with it whatsoever. Very worth the price of the set. I also love the accessories for the movesets of the Pokémon. Charizard comes with extra flames that make it look like they are erupting around him.

The set was purchased off of the American Pokémon Center website, but was released in Japan, as well. Both sets feature the same thing so it really does not matter what you go with. With that said, go with the American version if you want to save some money. For those of you who collect Japanese boxes, you will be paying a bit more.

Picture
Champion Red Nendroid figure

I thought I'd show off the actual centerpiece of this set. I'm not the biggest fan of Red, especially the "serious" version of him as seen in this figure, but I'll be honest when I say this figure is stunning. The paint job is flawless and his emotions are captured perfectly.

For those who love "serious, stoic" Red, this figure is for you.

Picture
Champion Red Nendoroid Venusaur Figure

Of course I'll show all the figures in this set. They're just too good not to show off.

You cannot complete the Kanto set without this big brute. Those leaves that come with the set are a very nice touch.

Picture
Champion Red Nendoroid Blastoise Figure

The last of the figures in this set. He is actually difficult to balance with the water blasting out of his cannons. They came with him and can be removed, but that's no fun. He needs to be shown off with those water accessories blasting out of his cannons. He looks cool that way.

What I do is have him balanced against the wall of the shelf he's in. He looks no worse in that pose and I get to have him look cool at the same time. Awesome.

Picture
Charizard Amiibo

Check out the World of Amiibo to learn more!

Picture
Charizard Gigantic Series NEO X-Play Figure

While not as tall as my other X-Play figures, the wingspan is what bumped up the shipping. I hate importing X-Play figures because the shipping always turns out to be more expensive than the item itself. The only way to get these toys without paying the obnoxious shipping price is to live in Japan. Yeah, that's not happening.

It comes with a nifty stand to hold the fire that gives the illusion that it is coming from its mouth. Very nice figure, even if the shipping was brutal.

Picture
GEM Charizard Figure

This figure is not large, but that does not mean it is not good! It's actually a perfect size for any collector's house!

He comes with a base along with Ash and Pikachu for the ride! Very nice display piece. A must-have for Charizard collectors and even fans of the anime.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Gallery Figure--- Blast Burn

One of the largest figures in the Gallery Figure line, this stunning work of art makes for great display. He's probably 2x larger than your standard Gallery Figure.

Picture
Charizard Tomy Figure

These are the older Tomy figures that were released in the 90s. I was also quite lucky to snatch one MIP, but due to its age, the package is showing some wear.

Picture
Charizard DX Tomy

I wish Tomy would make more of these DX figures. They are very well made and as big as they look!

Picture
Charizard Updated Tomy Figure

I actually like this updated Tomy figure a lot more than the older model. He looks more spontaneous and full of action!

Picture
Mega Charizard X Tomy Figure

Okay, I have to be honest.
I was looking forward to the day they would release the Tomy figures of the Mega evolutions, and it happened! Tomy did not fail me! This figure is badass! I love it!

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Tomy Figure

Oh, Y. I am just an inch short of being sorry that you fall second place compared to X. Still, don't expect me to feel too sorry for you because you get lots of attention from Pokémon Center promotions that run me dry, so yeah.

I do like this figure much more than X, and I love the X figure so that is saying something.

Picture
Charizard Tomy Battle Figure

Oh my goodness, I have wanted this figure ever since I first saw it in 2010! Thanks to a good friend of mine, I was finally able to get it for a stupid cheap price! I mean, cheap!!

They rarely pop up for auction but be patient and a cheap one may come your way, too!

Picture
Charizard Tomy Moncolle Plus+ Figure

The Moncolle (which is the words Monster Collection combined) plus+ figures are pretty rare, and I was lucky to get this one when they were still being sold in retail.

Picture
Charizard Moncolle Get Regular and Metallic Figures

These tiny figures come in two forms- regular as seen on the right and "metallic" as seen on the left. By metallic, it has a glossier coat of paint.

Picture
Charizard Tomy Monster Collection Figure

This figure measures at 2.5", which is larger than the standard Tomy figure.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Tomy Mega Evolutions VS Figure

This guy comes paired with Mega Absol, and I decided to keep both of them because I love Absol, too.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Tomy Mega Evolutions VS Figure

This guy comes paired with Mega Blaziken, and unlike Absol, I am not a fan of the fighting chicken. He was given as a gift to someone who would appreciate him more.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Tomy Poseable Figure

I don't understand why they call it a poseable figure. They are nice figures, but they really cannot be moved around in different poses. I know the wings came separate from the rest of the body and the arms can be moved up and down, but that's pretty much it. It's just a standard figure.

While it is nothing special, it's still a nice size and beautiful to display!

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Tomy Poseable Figure

Like with X, Y here is just a standard figure. He can't be posed but his arms and legs do have to be assembled. I guess because they are ball jointed, you can pose him like that? It's still not fully articulated like a D-Arts or Figma figure.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Tomy Sinker Figure

These are not small figures. I was actually expecting them to be smaller, but I was proven wrong! They're so big that they cannot fit in my shelves! I decided to keep them in their packages until room is actually made.

When I make more space, they are going to be removed from the packages.

I'm not razzing these figures, by the way. The details and paint job are amazing.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Tomy Sinker Figure

More of that amazing details and paint job I mentioned above!

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Battle Action Tomy Figure

This is a beautiful figure! I had a lot of trouble choosing a picture of this guy because I took so many good pictures, I had to choose the best one of the bunch. He's gorgeous at every angle. I think this one captures everything that is good about this figure!

He's big and very elegant! A must have for Charizard collectors!

Picture
Charizard Kid 1998

This is an older kid. You can tell by the color (the recent Kids are a brighter shade of orange).

Picture
Charizard Regular, Clear, and Shiny Kid Figures 2004

Yes! I managed to get all three figure variations! The shiny was the most difficult one to obtain, but so worth it! I am happy to have all three of them!

It is worth noting that the shiny kids were not available as retail items, but were randomly given out as limited prizes by the Pokémon Daisuki Club. Shiny Charizard is one of the rarest shiny kids, and recent auctions had him selling for as high as $200. I was lucky and paid MUCH less than that for mine, but then again, that was years ago.

Picture
Charizard Attack Kid 2006

He is breathing fire, nothing more or less.

Picture
Charizard Kid 2008

I love his face!

Picture
Charizard Attack Kid 2010

This kid's pose has Charizard blasting fire from his wings.

Picture
Charizard "Genesect Volume" 2013 Kid

Well, I can at least be happy it's a new pose and not a re-release like some of the other kids in this set.

Picture
Charizard Attack Kid 2013

Charizard and his new attack pose! I love it!

Picture
I Choose You- Charizard 2017 Movie Kid

A Charizard Kid figure released in time for the 2017 movie, I Choose You. I'm impressed they're still able to make Charizard Kids without running out of poses.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Kid 2014

This is a pretty nifty Kid figure, regardless of your opinion on Charizard.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Kid 2015

Y was just itching to come out and I was itching to get him!

Picture
Charizard DX Kid

Unfortunately, he's not in the best condition. His belly is scruffed and covered in paint rubs.

Picture
Charizard-line Zukan

One of my favorite items in my collection! I got this when it was rare, but back then it was not as rare as it is now. I really wish they had a peg for Charmander since getting him to stand up can be a real pain in the keister.

It is possible to get this figure for less than $80, but be prepared to spend around that or more if you really want this beauty and just can't wait. Also, it just occurred to me that Charizard is not a very big Pokémon. He's only 5'7"! I pictured him to be much larger.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Zukan

I was waiting for this figure for ages... and man, was I let down! What really bothers me the most about this figure is the paint job. It looks terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE! I am talking Generation V levels of terrible!

His left eye looks smaller than his right, his belly has a black smudge on it, his white claws don't look like they were given an extra coat of paint, therefore letting the black show through... I am just upset at how bad he looks and how lazy the company was in making this. I know they wanted to milk Charizard for all that he was worth and they probably rushed on this, but there is no excuse for it to look this bad.

The only nice thing I'll say about this figure is the pose and the base. That's about it. This is disappointing.

Picture
Charizard D-Arts Figure

This is a beautiful figure, don't get me wrong. However, after having this thing for more than a year, I have a few complaints that I should warn you about, especially with how expensive it is.

My first complaint- getting him to fly is not an easy process. The box and numerous spoiler sites would advertise him in a flying pose, but once you get the figure itself, you realize they either flaked out on making him fly or they want you to shell out more money. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter. It does include a support peg that would have allowed him to fly, but the damn thing is so small that it will not support him without a second large peg! They do have separate pegs that you can buy wherever they sell D-Arts or S.H.Figuarts, but god damn! Would it have killed them to add one more peg that wasn't tiny? Separate pegs are not cheap, and with how expensive these figures are, your wallet better prepare its... I'm not going to say it because I'm not a vulgar twit. Well, most of the time I'm not.

My second problem with this figure is that the ball joints always lock up. Whenever I move the tail to have Charizard in a different pose, instead of moving fluidly, it locks up and comes off very easily. Granted, this is not too much of a problem as it can easily snap back into place, but it's still something that shouldn't have to be dealt with. The articulation shouldn't be as stiff the way it is. I have cheap dollar store toys that move better and are much sturdier. That's really sad.

My final problem is the base. It is a beautiful base, but be prepared for it to break without actually doing anything to it! I don't know how it happened, but my base has a large, ugly scratch in the center. I am not kidding when I say I didn't do anything to it. It was just a random occurance, and I am disappointed that it had to happen to such a nice-looking base like this. This, however, is not really too much of a problem. There are bases you can buy and have custom made to give your figure a nice, fresher look. That's something I'll be doing in the future with this guy.

So yeah, before you shell out so much money, know this figure can be a pain to deal with. D-Arts made nice figures within its time, yeah, but their quality just went downhill at some point.

Picture
Charizard Ichiban-Kuji Figure

In Japan, Pokémon lottery prizes are frequently given out at certain stores such as 7-Eleven and even Pokémon Centers. I wish the local 7-Elevens here in the US were that cool!

I am really glad this was not one of the rarer prizes. When I first heard of its release, I was excited and couldn't wait to own this figure! Now he gives my Charizard collection a lot of character!

Picture
Charizard Motion Figure

The successor to the clipping figures by name only. They're still the same thing.

This little guy would not stay balanced on his stand, so he is propped up in the photo. I have him on his base, but not the way the designers intended. What they intended is really difficult to do without ruining the stand itself. I have seen people get him on his stand correctly, so it CAN be done, but for some reason I just can't do it.

This is when Hasbro finally started to make great figures, which was also when the franchise's popularity started to wane. This is also where I give Hasbro the credit they deserve: this and the item below are amongst my favorite figures in my collection!

If you raise his arms up, his mouth lights up and he roars!

Picture
Charizard Hasbro Battle Figure

Another wonderfully detailed Charizard figure by Hasbro, and they even released a limited shiny version! I have yet to obtain the shiny figure, but I am patient and know one will come my way in the future.

The fire in his mouth and tail can be launched. I can understand the fire from the mouth, but his tail?

Picture
Pokémon 10th Anniversary Charizard Figure

This figure was only released at Target retail stores. It was part of the Pokémon 10th anniversary collection of figures!

Picture
Pokémon Top 10 Fan Choice Collector Charizard Figure

Another Target-only figure that was part of the top 10 choice of figures picked out by fans. He is supposed to come with a white-colored fire blaster, but mine did not come with it.

If anybody out there has the fire that he is supposed to come with and you do not mind selling it, let me know and I would love to take it off your hands!

Picture
Charizard Tomy Model Kit

Tomy model kits come disassembled and require you to put the pieces together yourself. It's so easy to put together that you don't even need to look at the assembly manual. What you get is what you see! He's large and proud! He also comes with little wheels that are placed on his feet and tail so you can roll him around.

My Toys R Us didn't have this figure until a month after its scheduled release. I was impatient so I asked syminka to pick this thing up for me at her local TRU.

Picture
Charizard Kaiyodo Chess Piece

Kaiyodo makes the best figures! After Bandai, they are my second favorite figure company! Tomy is my third favorite.

The details are just stunning!

Picture
Charizard Trading Figure Game Figure

Another wonderful Kaiyodo creation. The unfortunately short-lived trading figure game only lasted one set, leaving a bunch of prototypes unavailable to the public. This Charizard is from the first set so they are a lot more common.

Picture
Charizard vs. Blastoise Pokémon Ultimate Battle Diorama

It looks more like they are having a casual conversation than an actual battle. I mean, look at them! They're both smiling and just standing there!

Picture
Charizard Ball Choco Figure

These figures were hidden randomly inside a Poké Ball made out of chocolate! This Charizard is from the set 3 release.

Picture
Charizard Jakks Figure

I love the pose! I don't care what anybody says, I really like Jakks figures!

Picture
Charizard Pracoro Dice

Two down, two more to go!

Picture
Charizard Clear Pracoro Dice

Two down, two more to go. Getting these dice was a lot more trouble and expensive than they were worth, but since I already have two of them, I might as well grab the other two when I can.

I also decided to keep the pegs on. These are probably the rarest dice in my collection and to keep them intact would be wise.

Picture
Charizard Pracoro Tiny Die

Finding the smaller variants will be a challenge, too.

Picture
Charizard McDonald's Figure

I hate McDonald's, but they make good toys! Especially in Japan! But I certainly won't complain about the toys we get here!

He has an on/off switch on his back. If the switch is put on "on", his wings flap and his tail fire lights up! If the switch is on "off", his wings could still flap manually but the fire will not light up. That's really cool if you do not want to waste the battery!

Picture
Charizard Keychain

I love this keychain! Again, as with the unwritten rule regarding really cool keychains, I always get one to display in my collection and one to use for myself.

Made by Tomy.

Picture
Charizard Black and White 2012 Keychain

This was a Christmas gift given to me by my very good friend, Silvolf! It was a complete surprise to receive this and I am super grateful to her! She also gave me a card with some kicking artwork! Go check her out! She is a fantastic artist and a great friend!

Picture
Charizard Peruvian Cereal Figures

These little figures were released in Peru as prize figures you find in cereal boxes. I am sure other colors exist, and I would love to have them all!

Picture
Charizard Roller Figure

Released in Europe, these figures have a small metal ball underneath them that allows them to roll around on the ground. The ball within them is pretty heavy.

Picture
Charizard Stadium Figure

These things are so derpy, but Charizard here is actually one of the least derpiest of the figures! Unfortunately, that is not saying much.

Picture
Charizard Stadium Figures

More stadium figures. They may look the same, but the Charizard on the left has his mouth open. These figures look pretty good considering FCS figures tend to look awful.

Picture
Charizard Fire Breating Stadium Figure

This was given to me as a gift from the lovely clair2522! I am not worthy of her friendship!

Picture
Charizard Battle Museum Figure

It's an upgarde from the FCS figures! I just wish more Pokémon got figures made.

Picture
Charizard Suction Cup Figure

These things are so cute! In my opinion, all the Pokémon that were released as suction cup figures look cute!

Picture
Charizard Pencil Topper figure

This cute little figure can fit on top of any pencil! I love his face!

Picture
Charizard Thinkchip+ Figure

I know little to nothing about thinkchip technology. I may be more familiar with it than I think, but I never heard of the term "thinkchip" until I knew about these figures. I am loving that pose and fiery base! Really awesome!

Picture
Charizard V Trainer Figure

The V Trainer figures also used thinkchip technology. Quite a few
Pokémon were released for the V Trainer sets and they all have that cute, chibified look.

Picture
Charizard Hasbro Innovision Figure

This figure is not commonly seen for auction. All that I know is that it is called an "Innovision" figure and it was made by Hasbro. It also looks like it used thinkchip technology. I need to look more into this one.

Picture
Charizard Pokédex Footprint Figure

These figures come with a base that includes information you would see in a Pokédex such as their height, weight, and footprint.

Picture
Charizard Great Ball Bell Keychain

Found on Yahoo! Japan, these adorable keychains are worth the buy!

Picture
Charizard Ultra Ball Bell Keychain

I won this in an auction/weeding sale for a great price! Both a
Poké Ball and Master Ball version exist and I would love to have both.

There is a bell in the keychain (hence the name) and it makes the cutest little chime. I love it!

Picture
Charizard and Pikachu Game Boy Advance Link Keychain

This keychain was released to promote the new way of trading for the FireRed and LeafGreen games on the Game Boy Advance. I got two of these keychains: one to display and one to actually use. What is shown in the picture no longer has the backing, and is displayed as only the keychain itself.

A keychain with Charizard and Venusaur exists. I would love to have that, as well!

Picture
Charizard Black and White 2 Charm Strap

Charizard's reappearance in the Anime certainly had a hand in boosting his current amount of merchandise. There really isn't a whole lot to say about this one.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Mega Evolutions Tomy Gashapon Strap

The prototypical gashapon strap. Nothing too special about it. The paint job is good, and I'm happy about that.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Mega Evolutions Tomy Gashapon Strap

Despite what I said about X, I love Y's pose! Why can't Y be the poster boy for selling toys?? I love his design a lot more!

Picture
Charizard EX Pokémon Trading Card Game Figure and Card Set

Released for the franchise's 20th Anniversary, this set includes the gorgeous figure seen in the middle, as well as a Charizard TCG card and some booster packs.

Unlike the figures below, I decided not to take the figure out of the box. Those booster packs can have super rares in them for all I know. It makes for a nice display.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Trading Card Game Collection Figure

I technically have two figures of this, but one of them I decided to keep mint in package because it displays so much nicer with this figure shown alongside. What could be in the booster packs? I don't know. They could have ultra rares for all I care.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Trading Card Game Collection Figure

Like X, I managed to obtain an extra figure of Y while simultaneously displaying it with the TCG collection box that is mint and unopened! It displays really nicely like that.

Boy, oh boy! Taking this figure's picture was a pain! His face always came out blurry because the stupid camera would spaz out on me and take a picture of the back part of his body! This is the first and only time I was able to get a good picture!

Picture
Charizard Decorative Ornament

This is one figure that I would love to keep mint in box, but it would be nice to find another one to use when Christmas time comes!

Picture
Charizard Full Color Figures

I haven't been in hot pursuit of these as with other figures, probably because of the recent influx of new Charizard items and their rarity combined make it difficult. I still would love to have all the colors! I am not expecting to finish my collection of full color figures for a long time. There are a lot of colors, and they can be pricey, especially the popular Pokémon.

The difference between these and the mini models is that, besides the size, the full color figures appear to be the models used to make the stadium figures. It's funny; I don't have this stadium figure's pose.

Picture
Charizard Mini Model Figure

These come in multiple colors, too. They are larger than the full color figures.

Picture
Charizard Pencil Grabbing figure

This is the second cutest figure I own! Who's the first?

Picture
Charizard Minicot Figure

Meet the most cutest figure in my Charizard collection!

Stationery and Flats

Picture
Shiny Charizard Sugimori Clearfile

This beautiful clearfile was part of a set of clearfiles featuring Ken Sugimori's artwork on the covers. This image itself dates back as early as the Gold, Silver, and Crystal days in January of 2002! An older clearfile exists, but it is one of the few re-released Charizard items that I am not looking to get the original of. The differences between the two are almost non-existant, so it wouldn't be worth it.

A box and a notebook exists with this image on it. I want those.

Picture
Charizard Clearfile X Version

This comes with another clearfile featuring Yveltal, but I only wanted this for you-know-who. I kind of wish Charizard were with Yveltal because I think he looks cooler than Xerneas, but whatever.

Picture
Charizard and Starters Pokémon Center Type Clearfile

The starters of all five generations share a clearfile based on the fact that they are starters rather than organizing them by type. I love this clearfile because it not only has Charizard, it also has the Tepig-line and Samurott!

Picture
Charizard Pokédex Pokémon Center Clearfile

This clearfile displays the final starter evolutions much larger than the other Pokémon. Of course, they had to do the same thing with their mascot. Note how much larger Pikachu is compared to the starters.

Picture
Charizard Gold Silver and Crystal Pokémon Center Clearfile

One of the Pokémon Center's oldest clearfiles. This dates back to the GSC days. This clearfile was obtained from a weeding sale.

Picture
Pokémon Center Online Charizard Document Case
(ポケモンセンターオンライン ドキュメントケース リザードン)

I bought this off of Pokevault, but these were originally sold only on the Japanese Pokémon Center Online store. This looks like a wonderful item to place all your important documents in!

Another great thing about this case is that it also has Lapras on it, though she's on the back. She also has her own document case that can be seen in the Gen I page of this site.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Notepad

A notepad released at Pokémon Centers. I will not be taking it out of the plastic.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Type Stickers

Charizard and Elekid on the same sticker sheet?! You read my mind well, Pokémon Center! They are called "type stickers" because the backgrounds are color coded to let you know what type they are.

Clever, Pokémon Center. Still, it would have been better if you had a variety of types on these sheets rather than spamming Pikachu and Pichu in the center. Where are the Dark- and Steel-types? What about Rock- and Fighting-types?

Despite being stickers, it's here because I like them a lot. T'was a must have, indeed.

Picture
Charizard and Starters Art Board

This beautiful art board has some of my favorite artwork on it.

Picture
Charizard Advanced Generation Art Board

This really large art board was released around the time the Battle Frontier season kicked off in the anime.

Picture
Charizard Jungle Pokémon Art Board

One of my luckier finds! It was found in a lot that I purchased on Y!J and I had no knowledge that this item was amongst everything! All of my favorite Generation I Pokémon are shown here with the exception of Lapras.

Picture
Charizard Character Stamper

A cute stamper figure! Character stamps are really hit-and-miss, and some of the Pokémon look really bad. Charizard came out great! I really love that pose! It's slightly derpy, but not too bad!

Picture
Charizard Retsuden Stamper

I really don't understand how the Generation I-era of Retsuden stamps (which were released in the 90s) are more common than the Advanced Generation-era of stamps.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Retsuden Stamper

Wow, there was never a Mega Charizard X stamper releases, was there? I have not been on Pkmncollectors in a while and I have not seen anything on Y!J, so this is a surprise. Not that I'm complaining. Y deserves more love- than X, by the way. He gets more love than a lot of other Mega Evolutions combined so I don't feel too bad for Y not being as exposed as X.

Picture
Charizard Yellow X and Y Eraser

Charizard, of course, had to make an appearance with the Generation VI Pokémon in their debut in eraser form. Why? Cuz he's popular, silly!

Regardless of your opinion, these erasers are well made. Too bad I won't be using them.

Picture
Charizard Red and Blue 3D Erasers

Made by Toy Island, these erasers are surprisingly well made!

Picture
Charizard Light Blue Eraser

I am not sure what company made this eraser, but for something so small, it looks incredibly detailed!

Picture
Charizard Clip

I am not sure if a magnet was released with the clip as well.

Picture
Charizard Mini Clips

A wonderful gift from syminka! She spoils me rotten!

Picture
Charizard Ceramic Roller Ball Pen

I have to give Rose Art some credit: they did a great job with this pen! It looks really nice, but it is going to stay in package.

Picture
Charizard Coin Bank/Storage Tin

A gift from, you guessed it, syminka! This tin has a unique pose that I do not see too often!

Picture
Charizard TAZO pog

This pog was released in Europe. There are three languages: Spanish, Greek, and Portuguese.

Picture
Charizard Cinematic/Motion Stickers

I am not sure of the official name, but it just features Charizard in various awesome poses. I guess with the bottom stickers you can put them on a flip book and create an animation effect of him breathing fire.

This and the sticker below it are good fun, so they get to be displayed here.

Picture
Charizard Vs. Lugia Stickers

Cool artwork, as you can see!

Picture
Charizard Holographic Bandai Carddass Card

The artist for this card is unknown because he or she is not credited, but I am inclined to think that it was Ken Sugimori who did the art for this series of cards. It looks like his style. These are some of my favorite cards because of their unique poses! Charizard's pose looks so awesome! I cannot even describe it with mere words!

It was placed in a card protector for the picture, but it has been removed and moved to a binder.

It's simply a badass card that deserves to be shown off.

OTHER ITEMS

Picture
Charizard 151 Pokémon Center Badge

Surprisingly, this is one of the more common 151 badges that I have seen. I've seen it go up for sale MIP numerous times, along with an assortment of other popular Pokémon. The ones I rarely see go up for sale MIP are the unpopular Pokémon, and I find that really odd.

I would also like to get the 2013 re-release.

Picture
Charizard Pokédoll 2013 Pokémon Center Charm

I am so happy to finally have my own Charizard Pokédoll charm! While it is not the original 2004 charm, I am still happy to own one! It is just so cute! It's also nice to have the other Generation I starters and Mewtwo there.

According to godudette, who has a large database of Pokédoll charms, the re-release is a lighter shade of orange and the metal outline is a lot bolder and more noticeable. I do agree with her that the original looks better and I hope to get that one day.

Picture
Charizard Johto Dex Pokémon Center Charms

I am a lucky lioness. I got the last set of charms that were up for sale on Pokevault and now the Charizard Johto-dex charms are rarely seen on eBay and even Y!J. When they do come up for sale, they are usually expensive.

Picture
Charizard National Dex Pokémon Center Charms

I actually like these charms better than the original Johto release. They look ready for action!

Picture
Charizard and Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center Charms

I like this set because they featured other Mega evolutions that deserved their time in the limelight, but of course Charizard had to make an appearance. These charms look great, but I am not too fond of the gold backing. I wish they used a different color.

Picture
Charizard and Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Charms

Of course Y has to make an appearance! And why not? He's cool in my book!

Oh yeah, this and the X charms are my first Mega Charizard gets ever! That counts for something!

Picture
Charizard 151 2016 Can Badge

The newest batch of 151 can badges to mark the franchise's 20th anniversary. They feature high-quality 3D art, though I will always be a bigger fan of the 2D art in the original 151 badges. Still beautiful.

Picture
Charizard Pokédoll Hand Towel

This is not a recent item. Made in 2004, this towel was released during the Pokémon Center's earlier days when Pokédolls were just starting to take shape. Charizard did not get a Pokédoll until 2010, while Venusaur and Blastoise didn't get Pokédolls until 2013! That was quite a long wait for fans of these Pokémon. The designs must have been such a tease!

Picture
Charizard Trading Card Game Pokémon Center Crystal Deck Box

I managed to get this deck box for a good price on eBay!

Picture
Charizard Red and Green Pokémon Center Card Sleeves

I love the artwork on these sleeves! The same artwork can also be seen on a card binder I hope to get soon!

The artist is credited! I was surpised to see it was Hitoshi Ariga! He is the same guy who illustrated and wrote the Rockman Megamix series, my favorite manga series to date!

Picture
Mega Charizard X and Y Pokémon Trading Card Game Card Sleeves

Found at my local Gamestop, I was surprised to see these cards translated from the Japanese version of the same sleeves.

I love the artwork! Beautiful!

Picture
Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y Deck Box

The incredible artwork on this box was imported from Japan and sold at various US venues where video game and other collectable goodies are sold. I got this at a Gamestop. I am glad they sold it here in the US as I planned on importing it if it wasn't.

Picture
Charizard New York City Pokémon Center Christmas Plate

This adorable plate was released with a set of three other plates during the New York Pokémon Center's Christmas promotion!

Picture
Charizard Sumi-e Japanese Plate

This magnificant plate with beautiful artwork was released as part of a line that featured numerous Sumi-e artwork of various Pokémon on different merchandise. None of them were things that interested me too much like backpacks and stickers, but this plate was a must have.

Sumi-e is a style of ancient Japanese painting. It's not only limited in Japan, but can be found all over Eastern Asia using their own characteristic styles. They all use ink washing as a technique and all cultures bring some stunning works for the world to see.

Picture
Charizard New York City Pokémon Center Christmas Button

Like the plate, this button was also released in a set with three other buttons during the Christmas promotion.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Dot Sprite Phone Charm

I never liked it when the Pokémon Center released anything that had to do with game sprites. I think it's because the game sprites can be easily replicated by custom artists who use beads that it just seems pointless. I think another reason could be is that I love the Pokémon Center for their original art and selling stuff that we can see in our own video games is kinda lame.

Fortunately, when they do release anything that has to do with game sprites, the items they have are not the most expensive. At least inexpensive by Pokémon Center standards. I wouldn't blame anybody if they thought they were still too expensive.

Picture
Charizard and Pikachu Pokémon Center Charms

I am not sure when this was released, but I know those are the Pokémon Center designs for Charizard and Pikachu!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center 3rd Anniversary Giant Can Badge

This was released to celebrate the Pokémon Center's 3rd anniversary! I hope they do something great for their 20th anniversary!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center 3rd Anniversary Button

Smaller, individual buttons for the special occasion!

Picture
Charizard Generation I Menu Sprite Pokémon Center Charm

Like the cushion above in the plush section of this page, a charm of Rhydon... er, I mean Charizard, was also made.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center Keychain

I don't remember who I bought this from, but I remember there being a plastic wrap around the keychain to prevent it from getting damaged yet it was removed when I got it in the mail. Did all of these figures come without the wrapping or was it just mine? Either way, I am going to have to be extra careful with this one. I wouldn't want it to get scratched.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Pokémon Center Can Badge

Oh boy, this. I was not looking forward to hunting these things down because:
1.) They were blind boxed
2.) I was expecting them to be expensive when sold individually

I managed to get these badges for a decent price, and they are not that rare as they pop up on Y!J frequently. Get yours while they are hot.

Picture
Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Can Badge

Y looks so calm. He knows he's awesome.

Picture
Charizard Spencer's Skull Cap

Dear God, Spencer's Gifts. I despise that place. Not only for the fact that their stuff is overpriced, but they also have some of the crudest and ugliest items to offer. It bothers me that they sell items with profanity and filthy images displayed all over them yet they'll allow kids under the age of 13 to enter their stores. They don't even have them hidden behind a curtain or in an age-restricted room. They just display that crap out in the open for everyone to see! It wouldn't bother me so much if they had an age limit restriction to the place or had their adult items in an age-restriced room, but allowing impressionable kids to see their disgusting garbage rubs me the wrong way. Call me a prude all you want. There is no denying that a lot of the stuff they have is borderline pornographic! I know my parents would never have allowed me to go into a store like that when I was a kid...

...and to advertise Pokémon stuff, as well! A children's franchise! I know they are pandering to the older crowd by only selling Generation I and II items, but still... I feel the decency and family-friendly nature of this franchise could do without the likes of Spencer's getting involved. Wow, I read like a parody of a religious, over-protective parent. Well, I'm not here to influence your opinion. I'm just stating mine. I hate Spencer's and there's nothing that will change my mind about that. End of story.

This skull cap is cute enough. It doesn't change the fact that I still had to set foot inside Spencer's to get it. What I saw was not pleasant.

Picture
Charizard Spencer's Hat

An adorable hat. They had other clothes at this god-forsaken place that I didn't bother getting because they were ridiculously overpriced and just not as interesting as the items I have pictured here. A t-shirt with a generic picture of Charizard? Yeah, sounds like a must have!!! Not really.

Picture
Charizard Spencer's Lanyard

I have to admit that this lanyard is cute, but I would have felt it even better if a place other than Spencer's sold it. While Hot Topic is no saint in regards to what they sell and how expensive they sell their items, even they have a lot more class than this stupid place.

Okay, I've complained about Spencer's long enough. That place sucks, yes, but hopefully they'll lay off the Charizard stuff for now.

Wait. Now that I think about it.. my town has a Spencer's but not a Disney Store. Wow, that's... depressing.

Then again, the people who work there are super helpful and friendly. I like them. I hate the company, but the employees are cool.

Picture
Charizard and Blastoise Bandana

This bandana didn't come without its blemishes. There is some Japanese writing underneath Blastoise's feat. I still love and display it! I don't know what that writing says, but I think it adds to the bandana's charm!

Picture
Charizard Battrio Coins

I completed the whole set of Charizard Battrio coins! Now with the release of the Tretta set, they just gave me a new challenge to deal with!

Picture
Charizard European Miniature Card Binder

This was sold by a French seller on eBay who did not ship anywhere outside the continent of Europe. I had to have my friend middleman for me to get me this lovely! Many thanks to rainyan for helping me get this beautiful binder!

I use it to store my Charizard TCG cards! Yes, he gets his own binder!

Picture
Charizard "Fire Power" Johto Journeys VHS Box

Back when the box art for the dub were original! Nowadays Viz Media is just using stock art for the DVD boxes and CD covers. Japan, to this day, uses original art for certain DVD releases, especially the rental boxes.

I really enjoyed the Johto seasons! Yeah, they were plagued by fillers, but I liked some of those fillers!

Picture
Charizard Inflatable Toy

I have to be really careful with this guy because I am always afraid something will pop him. I have him on a high shelf to protect him from, well.... everything.

Picture
Charizard Giant Mega Block

The Charizard block was much larger than the regular blocks! He comes with the typical, yet cute, paint job! Face and body on front, wings and tail on back!

Picture
Charizard Advanced Generation Button

This button was released with a set of all the final starters that were currently known during the AG era.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Trading Card Game Pin

I got this by complete accident. I wasn't even looking for Charizard items and I found this! I know a Y pin exists and I will be getting that, too. I hope future TCG items do more with stuff like this!

Picture
Charizard Crystal Cube Figure
(クリスタルキューブ フィギュア リザードン)

This is an unknown one! It has Charizard in the middle of a hard cube. He was given to me by my good friend, the ever-so-dapper syminka. The cube itself is chipped on the top, but hey, it was a gift and I am happy to own it anyways!

He was released in Japan.

Picture
Charizard Pez Dispenser

Oh wow. I never knew this, but apparently there was one point in history where Pez made Pokémon dispensers. They made the prototypical popular Pokémon like Pikachu, Mew, ... and Charizard!

I found out about this thing's existence way after its initial release, yet I rarely saw it for sale. Whenever I did see it, I would always miss out on it either due to lack of funds or getting outbid. Not this time. I won an entire lot of Pez dispensers with Charizard being one of them. I bought the lot for a great price, and now I finally have one to call my own!

Picture
Charizard Uchiwa 1

This was released during the time of the second movie. Elekid was highly promoted around this time. He is also on the back, but as much as I love Elekid, I displayed this part of the fan to also show off the presence of Charizard! I love having items with two or more favorite Pokémon.

Picture
Charizard Uchiwa 2

Another fan with Charizard, this time being surrounded by three Generation II starters, Suicune, and the always present Pikachu. I am a fan of this fan! I'm sorry about the pun.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon League Patch

Losing to a Bellsprout, Charizard? That's just sad...

I believe this art was used to promote the Heart Gold and Soul Silver Pokéathlon events as well as the Pokémon League.

Picture
Charizard Metal Coaster

I really wish I had two of these! One to use and one to display! This one is only being displayed.

Picture
Charizard Utensil Set

That's right, folks! A utensil set with Charizard! There's a fork, a spoon, and two chopsticks! It also comes with a container to store them! That's pretty cool!

Another wonderful item from syminka! I wonder where she found this?

Picture
Charizard Seal Book Plastic Cover

This is a small plastic storage box for those tiny type seal books. It's hard to explain since I don't have a single type seal book to show, but you can google type seal books to see what I mean.

Picture
Charizard and Garchomp Trading Card Game coins

These coins were released with the Charizard vs. Garchomp TCG deck kits. I don't think those particular deck kits were released in the US.

Picture
Charizard Gold Charm

Not a lot is known about this charm!

Picture
Charizard Metal Charm

I am not sure of this charm's origins, either.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Metal Keychain

These things are tiny! They look much larger in the picture they are advertised in, but don't be fooled! They are smaller than the palm of my hand, and I have small hands!

Picture
Alan and Mega Charizard X Watch

A character from the anime with his trusty Charizard! The color of this watch is gorgeous!

Picture
Charizard Dog Tag

The pose on the tag looks really cool! This is coming from me who is not a dog tag person.

Picture
Charizard Burger King Gold Plated Card

You know this had to show up here! I think almost every American kid and their grandmother had these cards when they first came out. I think that was also around the time Burger King saw their corporate profits rise sky high, even though I am not a huge Burger King lover and I only went for the toys. I am just not a fast food person. Now their toys! Those were great! Right now the best fast food toys are made by McDonalds but Burger King had some real gems when the first and second movies came out!

Picture
Charizard Blue Marble

I am pretty sure other colors exist, and yes, I do want them.

A marble bag with Charizard's image also exists and I would love to have that as well!

Picture
Charizard Pracoro Plastic Container

This was included only with the Kanto starter dice, as this did not come with other Pokémon box sets.

Picture
Charizard and Electabuzz Wendy's Plastic Box (Front)

Wendy's chains were always really subtle about toy releases, unlike McDonalds and Burger King. I didn't even know they had a Pokémon promotion in 2003, and I wish I did! This is probably my most favorite item in my collection! Why, you may ask? Especially since I own rarer and better quality figures? This item has my top two favorite Pokémon on the same item!!

This is the front with the dapper Charizard!

Picture
Charizard and Electabuzz Wendy's Plastic Box (Back)

This is the back with the humble and lovable Electabuzz. I watched too much Underdog as a kid.

Picture
Charizard Trading Card Game Tin

You couldn't get these awesome tins with Wizards. Don't get me wrong, I like Wizards but I just didn't like them having the license to the TCG. The booster pack wrappers and starter deck boxes had very boring designs when they were in charge and they milked the series in the worst ways. In my opinion, The Pokémon Company International is doing a better job at handling the card game, even though I don't play the card game or have any intention to. I just collect the cards.

I sometimes use this tin for storage.

Picture
Charizard X and Y 2014 Trading Card Game Tin

When I saw this tin for the first time on Pokebeach, I knew I had to get it. When they were finally released, I went to my local Target only to find them all sold out! There were plenty of Blastoise and Venusaur tins left, but since I don't collect them, that meant nothing to me.

Fortunately, there was a seller on eBay selling these tins at retail price with free shipping. I snatched it before they sold out and this is what I got! So nifty! I love it! I have yet to open it and all the booster packs are still in the tin. I'll have to change that one day. Or maybe not... I like it nice and minty like that.

Pokémon Center Promotions

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Charcoal Mug

The first time I saw this mug was when the temporary Pokémon Center in France had them for sale. The mugs sold out quick and I was dreading the day when I had to look on eBay for one and pay through the nose. Then the Pokémon Center online store opened and had the same mugs for sale! What luck!

It is a beautiful mug! I love the colors!

Picture
Charizard 2010 Pokémon Center Promotion Red Clearfile

Oh, yeah! The First Charizard Pokémon Center promotion! This has to be my all-time favorite Pokémon Center promotion! It can never be duplicated or replicated, no matter how much they try!

This was the first item I got from the promotion! I am very attached to this clearfile!

Picture

This scarf can easily keep you nice and warm. I will never wear it.
I've always wanted to wear a scarf on a super cold day, but alas, this will not be that scarf.

Picture
Charizard 2010 Pokémon Center Promotion Hand Towel

I have to wonder if anybody who bought this towel ever used it. I mean, it's just so cool looking that you wouldn't want to use it, even if you are not a collector!

Picture
Charizard 2010 Pokémon Center Promotion Handkerchief

Oh my god! Yes! I finally have this in my house! This has been a high priority want for a long time! I am going to have this framed and displayed like the centerpiece it is!

I love the background! The red, fiery lava and the dark sky with lightning crashing down really accent each other well!

... wait... are those silhouettes of Moltres, Rayquaza, and Salamence in the background? I believe they are!

Picture
Charizard 2010 Pokémon Center Promotion Sketchbook

A sketchbook!  I wish I can draw in this thing! It looks like this sketchbook will forever have blank pages, and that's a good thing!

Charizard 2013 Pokémon Center Promotion Clearfile

Well, they can't all be winners. I was not too impressed with this promotion. Compared to the 2010 promotion, the quality of everything (including the art) just seemed a lot more inferior. It had a couple of items I really liked, but unlike the 2010 promotion where I liked everything, the 2013 promotion fails to keep me motivated to buy anything as I'm constantly pushing it aside for better things that come out. All in all, it was a very bland and forgettable promotion.

Anyways, I did manage to get a couple of items. When a promotion comes out, I always have to start with clearfiles! So, here it is.

Picture
Charizard 2013 Pokémon Center Promotion Handkerchief

Of course, I always try to get the handkerchief when I can. Handkerchiefs, at least to me, always seem to sell out a lot faster than anything else.

Picture
Charizard 2013 Pokémon Center Promotion Mini Notepad

Syminka bought this for me as a gift during her trip to Japan!

I adore it! Syminka didn't have to go out of her way to buy it for me and I am super happy to own it.

However, I should point this out- she went to Japan in the fall of 2015. This promotion started and ended in 2013 and they still had some leftover merchandise! That is how little people cared for it.

Since it is a gift, I will be showing it off. I may have complained a lot about the 2013 promotion like a big baby, but a gift is always special to me.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center 2014 Mega Battle Clearfile

While it is typical that the Pokémon Center would release another Charizard promotion when other Pokémon have yet to get a Tomy figure, unlike the Charizard 2013 promotion, this one is actually really good! I love the artwork for this promotion, and the fact that they were using Mega Charizard Y, not X, as the focal point of this promo really makes it unique! I hope to get more items from this promotion! It looks awesome!

I got this clearfile on eBay for a good price at just $3! Why that low? Because I had a coupon that knocked $10 off any purchase I made! I made a good choice, if I do say so myself!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Plush

Yes! Yes!! YES!!! I have been waiting for this since I first saw Charizard Pokémon Time-ified! This was an early Christmas gift from my bestest best fox friend, syminka!

I was super happy that Growlithe got a Pokémon Time plush, but at the same time I was disappointed that Charizard didn't get one. That all changed in October of 2013! Not only did Charizard get released as a Pokémon Time plush, he is also minky! My favorite fabric for plush!

He is posed in a way that only one foot touches the ground! He wants a hug! His little hands also have magnets in them that allow him to grasp his hands to create an adorable pose! This plush is a dream come true and every bit as cute as I pictured it! Thank you again, my wonderful foxy friend!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Campaign #6 Large Sofubi Figure

Yes! I was finally able to get my grubby paws on this little guy! Well, he's actually not very little. He towers over my other figures, even the D-Arts Charizard!

I stopped going to Pkmncollectors after a while, and it was during that time this guy was released along with a slew of other Pokémon that got the Pokémon Time treatment. I missed out on his first run, and ever since then, getting him in auctions was a lot more difficult than I initially thought it was going to be. He's very popular and ran for quite a bit. Eventually, I gave up and saved up the money thinking I wasn't going to get this guy for less than $100.
Then a seller had one for less than $80 with a Buy it Now option. I bought this guy at the speed of lightning! He's now mine! The search for him is over and I can breath a sigh of relief now that he is with the rest of my collection.

Everything about this figure is gorgeous! Sofubi means soft vinyl. Yes, he is made out of a very soft and smooth vinyl. The quality of this figure is amazing; from the paint job to the size and details, I have nothing bad to say about this figure!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Strap Figure

I do enjoy Pokémon Time items, and when it was revealed Charizard was going to be Pokémon Time-ified, I was almost put on life support! I was that happy! I love the way they handled this promotion! This is also the promotion that really got me to collecting Growlithe, but that can be explained for another time!

Here's Charizard's Pokémon Time Strap! Isn't he cute? I hope to get another one so I can actually use it!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Clearfile

Of course there have to be clearfiles! No promotion is complete without them!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Candy Tin

Haha! Mine still has the candy inside of it! I'll have to try them later.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Spiral Notebook

I don't know why, but for some reason I really like that beige background. It makes it feel like the sun is setting.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Pen

A ballpoint pen featuring Charizard, Gengar, Psyduck, and Poliwag. Aww, why couldn't Growlithe be on this pen?

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Deck Box

Something is inside the deck box because I hear something rattling in there whenever I move it. Anybody out there with a Pokémon Time deck box that is not in its package know what it is?

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time 2013 Planner

Now that 2013 is over, this thing is useless. It's still nice to have!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Bookmark 1

These bookmarks can only be found randomly from the backing of the Pokémon Time Strap Figures. This one was purchased from a sales post on Pkmncollectors.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Time Bookmark 2

I managed to get two of these! One was purchased from eBay, the other was found on the back of my Charizard strap figure. Figures (sorry for the unintentional pun). Knowing my luck, if I didn't buy it on eBay, I probably would have gotten something else from that strap.

The extra bookmark has been sold, so I no longer have it.

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Mega Tokyo Pokémon Center Plushes

You know, at first, I hated this promotion. This promotion came out right around the time ORAS was released, and it pissed me off because instead of giving the limelight to Pokémon who really needed it (like Numel or Tropius), they decided to milk the Charizard gravy train one last time in the form of making him into a costume for Pikachu.

Then I saw these plushes. I thought they were kind of cute, and since a Japanese seller was selling them together for $80, I decided to cave in because I couldn't make up my mind on which one I wanted and I knew they were going to have their prices jacked up to insane amounts one day.

I was right and I am glad I got them both! Once I got them in the mail, they were even cuter in person! I wish they weren't so expensive otherwise I would have purchased more of them! Not a bad promo after all!

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Figure (Balloons)

More Pikazard goodness in the form of figures! This one displays really well! I love how colorful he is.

I should mention that these figures could only be obtained from gashapon machines at the Pokémon Centers. I don't know if they were only released at the Mega Tokyo location or were released all over Japan.

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Figure (Roaring)

Look at him! He's a mini-Charizard!

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Figure (Laying Down)

After a day of roaring and being intimidating, here he is taking a break and being content.

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Figure (Smiling)

He can't hide his Pika instincts and smile.

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Figure (Winking)

This is probably my favorite figure of the lot. I love that winking expression!

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Hoodie Mega Tokyo Pokémon Center Charms

What promo is without charms? None! That makes me happy!

These charms are must haves because, hey, charms! I loves me some charms.

Picture
Pikachu and Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Cookie Tin

I just had to have this tin since a seller on eBay was selling them for a very good price! The tin itself is not very big, but hey, it's a must have for every Charizard collector! Also, the cookies are fantastic!

Picture
Pikachu and Mega Charizard Y Pokémon Center Handkerchief

The handkerchief that I have to get with any promotion!

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard Y Poncho Pokémon Center Figure

This, along with X below, was released with a slew of Pikachus wearing different mega evolved form ponchos.

You know, at first I thought this promotion was bleh, then cute to the point where I wanted most of the items, but then it went full 180 back to bleh again. The poncho theme is really getting old and it is proving what a cop out it is by having their mascot wear the clothes of another Pokémon, instead of having something for the Pokémon itself. It's really lame and I wish they would give the poncho theme a rest.

Anyways, because apparently having five figures wasn't enough, they released another Pikazard Y figure. This time he looks more... menacing? The first five had some much more charm compared to this figure.

Picture
Pikachu with Mega Charizard X Poncho Pokémon Center Figure

They had to take advantage of X, of course! Who didn't see this coming? Yes, a plush exists. Yes, I'll be getting it.

Picture
Mega Charizard X Mega Evolution Battle Pokémon Center Handkerchief

Look at that amazing artwork! I want this man or woman's talent! It's just so fricking amazing!

Picture
Mega Charizard X Mega Evolution Pokémon Center Charm

Of all the items in this promotion, I wanted this one the most. I mean, look at it! He's just so well-drawn and made out of a very durable and good material. I love the art the most, especially the art of the backing.

Now to get the rest of the items in this promotion.

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Online Grand Opening 3-Ring Binder

If there was one thing I was afraid of the Pokémon Center online selling out of, it was the 3-ring binder! Between this thing and the sticky note cube, I'd rather have the binder!

Picture
Charizard Pokémon Center Online Grand Opening Postcard

This was a gift from syminka! She is just too good for me, I tells ya! I am so happy to have a postcard with that artwork!

It's too bad clearfiles are not popular here in the West as it would have been nice to have clearfiles with this artwork on it. By the way, that explains why there were no clearfiles for the French Pokémon Center artwork, either, in case you were wondering. They just aren't popular in the Western world. Clearfiles weren't even available when the Pokémon Center in New York was opened, and that was a full-time store.

Picture
Charizard US Pokémon Center TCG Binder- Front

Purchased on the Pokémon Center website, this beautiful binder shows Charizard being badass, as usual.

Picture
Charizard US Pokémon Center TCG Binder- Back

I had to show off the artwork on the back. Look at it! So cool!
